MARSHALL, MN - It was an exciting day for the #14 University of Mary wrestling team (10-6, 6-4 NSIC) as the Marauders qualified four student-athletes to nationals at the 2026 NCAA Super Regional V.

Lane Ewing,
Luke Tweeton, and
Jacob Strausbaugh each punched their tickets to the NCAA National Championships. The Marauders placed sixth in the team standings after recording a team score of 84.5.

Sean Solis earned gold at 141 pounds and claimed his second consecutive Regional Championship. Â Solis began his day by defeating Troy Dolphin (Parkside) by a 4-0 decision. The Long Beach, CA, native then dominated in his semifinal match by beating Colton Hush (MSU) by a 16-5 major decision. Solis wrapped up his incredible day by taking down Pedro Velazquez by a 5-2 decision.
Lane Ewing claimed second at 157 pounds. Ewing's tournament started with a 7-2 decision win over Derek Johnson (SCSU). The Douglas, WY, native then impressed with a 22-10 major decision against Nick Mueller (UIU) in the semifinals. Ewing then fell in his first-place match to #11 Brody Hemauer (Parkside).

Luke Tweeton finished runner-up at heavyweight. Tweeton made his presence known when he pinned Braxton Rance (Minot) after 4:44 of action. The Frazee, MN, native continued his impressive run in the semifinals by earning an 11-3 major decision over Cooper Caraway (Parkside). Tweeton dropped his finals match to #3 Zach Glazier (SCSU) by a 6-1 decision.

Jacob Strausbaugh grabbed a third-place finish in the 133-pound weight class. Strausbaugh was unstoppable in his first match, defeating Bray Skinner (USF) by an 18-0 tech fall. He then lost his semifinal match to #15 Chase Beckett by an 8-2 decision. The Soldotna, AK, native got back on track after he beat Teagan Block (NSU) by a 19-4 tech fall. Strausbaugh qualified for nationals in style when he pinned Matthew Chi (Parkside) with just one second remaining in the match.
OTHER PLACERS FOR UMARY
- Kaden DeCoteau went 4-2 on the day to claim fifth place at 149 pounds. DeCoteau won his fifth-place match by pinning #13 Walker Bentz (MSU) at the 1:52 mark after trailing the match 7-4.
- Sam Bruss placed sixth at 184 pounds after he defeated #13 Brady Westall (NSU) by a 5-2 decision in overtime.

The Marauders will send four student athletes to the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships in Sioux Falls, SD. Day one is set for Friday, March 13, and day two is on Saturday, March 14.
