BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21) in their home opener against Winona State University.
UMary (4-8, 1-3 Northern Sun) posted 32 kills on a .076 attack percentage, while WSU (8-4, 3-1 NSIC) recorded 38 kills on a .292 attack percentage. The Marauders had 30 assists and five aces, while the Warriors had 38 assists and four aces.
The Warriors jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first and were able to maintain their advantage, winning 25-17. WSU controlled the second set and won 25-18.
The third set saw the Marauders go on a 7-0 run to tie the score at 21-21. The Warriors rallied back with a 4-0 run of their own to win 25-21.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Judith Burke had 13 kills and seven digs.
Maddy Freed posted a team-best 25 assists while adding three blocks and digs.
Gabby Caskey had a team-high five blocks.
Holli Klettheimer had six kills and four blocks.
Katie Bleeker recorded seven digs.
