Marauders defeat CSP, NSU in Aberdeen, SD

ABERDEEN, SD — The University of Mary swimming and diving team completed two days of competition by defeating Concordia-St. Paul (112-109) and Northern State University (167-45). UMary finished second in the NSU relays on Friday.

DAY TWO RESULTS
The Marauders took down the top three spots in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. Samantha Sheridan (11:23.81) won the event, followed by Gabrielle Evanson (11:29.72), and Amber Norgaard (11:49.09).

Peyton Wunderlich won the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:00.73. Emma Sheppard (1:04.98) took third.

Maria Strong took gold in the 100 Yard Backstroke after recording a time of 1:01.70.

UMary grabbed the top four spots in the 500 Yard Freestyle. Evanson won with a time of 5:35.16. Following Evanson were Samantha Sheridan (5:41.65), Norgaard (5:46.57), and Lola Sheridan (5:47.22).

Livy Gibbons claimed the 100 Yard Breaststroke, posting a time of 1:08.26. Natalie Dehring (1:11.65) placed third.

The team of Gibbons, Strong, Elise Altringer, and Taylor Miller took down the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:46.07.

Altringer (2:05.46) finished second in the 200 Yard Freestyle.

Wunderlich (25.08) and Strong (25.10) took second and third in the 50 yard freestyle.

Dehring (2:19.34) finished runner-up in the 200 Yard IM.

Gibbons and Altringer claimed second and third place in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

The team of Teresa Cavanaugh, Grace Warden, Dehring, and Wunderlich placed second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay after recording a time of 1:55.29.

DAY ONE RESULTS
UMary took down the 3x100 Relay after the team of Strong, Wunderlich, and Warden recorded a time of 3:06.72.

The team of Samantha Sheridan, Lola Sheridan, Wunderlich, and Altringer won the 800 Yard Freestyle with a time of 8:27.98.

The Marauders earned gold in the 3x500 Relay after Samantha Sheridan, Norgaard, and Evanson posted a time of 17:00.45.

The team of Dehring, Katherine Ryan, and Gibbons took second in the 3x100 Breastroke Relay with a time of 3:31.03.

Cora Mahler, Miller, Cavanaugh. and Dehring (4:20.15) finished runner-up in the 400 Yard Medley Relay.

Gibbons, Strong, Warden, and Altringer (1:43.08) placed second in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

Sarah Bernasconi, Samantha Sheridan, Ryan and Dehring (4:21.59) finished second in the 400 Yard Medley Relay.

Finishing off the day was the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, where the team of Gibbons, Strong, Warden and Wunderlich (3:44.84) claimed second.
