INDIANAPOLIS, IN – It was a special day for the #11 University of Mary wrestling team. Reece Barnhardt, Sean Solis, and Kaden Renner advanced to day two of the NCAA Championships and earned All-American Honors.

Three All-Americans ties an NCAA Record for the program set back in 2023. Barnhardt becomes the first four-time NCAA All-American in school history. The Bismarck, ND, native was the only Marauder to go undefeated as he will take part in the semifinals on Saturday, March 15, where the winner will compete for an NCAA Championship.

The Marauders return for day two of the NCAA tournament on Saturday. Championship Semis and Consolations are scheduled for 9 am. Championship matches are set to take place at 6 pm.

Barnhardt opened nationals in style at 133 pounds, pinning James Wright (Central Mo.) after 2:35 of action. The Bismarck, ND, native continued his impressive run by defeating Sam Spencer (St. Cloud St.) by an 8-3 decision in the quarterfinals. Barnhardt takes on Christian Davis (Lander) in the semifinals on day two.

Solis (141 pounds) lost his first match of the tournament by a 14-5 major decision to Braden Tatum (Newberry). The Long Beach, CA, native bounced back by pinning Brock Durbin (Ashland) at the 3:47 mark. Solis earned All-American status in grand style after he pinned #1 seeded Christian Small (Lake Erie) in 2:46 of action. Solis challenges Ronan Schuelke (McKendree) on Saturday.

Renner won his first match of the day at 157 pounds by a 9-8 decision over Noah Roulo (Lander). His next match saw him defeat John Ridle (Central Mo.) by pinfall at the 5:42 mark. Renner trailed Riddle 10-5 to start the third period when the Bismarck, ND, native earned a reversal and grabbed a clutch pin to advance to the quarterfinals.

He fell in his next match to #1 seeded Joel Jesuroga (St. Cloud St.) match by an 11-2 major decision. Renner bounced back with a dominant 11-0 major decision over Cael Robb (Neb.-Kearney) to earn All-American honors. Renner opens day two against Caleb Meunier (Minnesota St.).

Leo Mushinsky (165 pounds) fell short of getting All-American status, going 2-2 on day one. He dropped his opening match by a 4-2 decision to Noah Roulo (Lander). Mushinsky returned to defeat Jakob Chisolm (Montevallo) by a 16-1 tech fall. The Peoria, IL, native gritted out a tough 4-3 decision win over Kyle Botelho (San Fran. St.). He fell 4-0 in his final match against Bailey Gimbor (Kutztown).

Luke Tweeton went 0-2 at heavyweight, falling to Tyler Doyle (Colorado Mesa) and #1 seeded Crew Howard (Neb.-Kearney).

UMary sits in a tie for seventh place with 29 team points.
