LAKELAND, FL – The University of Mary tennis team (1-3, 1-1 NSIC) opened their spring break matches with a 7-0 defeat to #5 ranked NAIA school Southeastern University (5-2).

The match opened with the Fire winning doubles competition 3-0, giving them one team point. Chloe Chong Zhi Jing and Ilona Freitag were defeated in #1 doubles 6-4 by Carlotta Marzano and Irene Lopez. Maria Estinvil and Anna Sueflohn fell 6-3 in #2 doubles to Isabella Garces and Irene Parigi. Valeria Bradley and Luba Moyo lost 6-0 to Neleah Neiberline and Alessia Ciampiin in #3 doubles.

Chloe Chong Zhi Jing dropped her match in #1 singles to Carlotta Marzano 6-4, 6-1.

Ilona Freitag fell in #2 singles 6-3, 6-1 to Isabella Garces.

Maria Estinvil battled hard in #3 singles but fell 6-3, 6-3 to Neleah Neiberline.

Anna Sueflohn lost 6-2, 6-1 to Irene Parigi in #4 singles.

Valeria Bradley was defeated in #5 singles 6-2, 6-1 by Alessia Ciampi.

The matchup at #6 singles saw Luba Moyo fall 6-1, 6-0 to Irene Lopez in #6 singles.
