MINOT, ND - It was a dominant performance for the #14 University of Mary wrestling team as the Marauders took down their in-state rivals, Minot State University, 45-7 in the "Battle for the Barrel".

The Marauders improve to 9-0 in the Battle for the Barrel, winning the last four by a combined score of 168-23. UMary went 8-2 in the dual, taking down five matches by pinfall and three by tech fall. 45 is the most points scored in program history against the Beavers.

Mason Gutenberger kicked off the night in style at 125 pounds, taking down Austin Garcia in the opening seconds of the bout. Guttenberg would pin Garcia at the 2:52 mark. Ben DeForest scored the first conference win of his career, pinning George Selmeister at 133 pounds in 4:05 of action.

#3 Sean Solis showcased his dominance at 141 pounds, earning a 15-0 tech fall over Ethan Wonser. Anthony Nunes was spectacular at 149 pounds as he defeated Robert Salehi by a 20-4 technical fall.

The 157-pound weight class saw #7 Kaden Renner come out on fire, pinning Roman Leifridt at the 1:33 mark. Lane Ewing held a 1-0 lead going into the third period over Will George at 165 pounds. Ewing earned himself a pinfall victory after George elected to take bottom position after 6:31 of action.

Gavin Turk grinded out a 4-2 decision at 174 pounds to give the Beavers their first win of the night. Sam Bruss got the Marauders back to their winning ways at 184 pounds, defeating Payton Wayman by a 16-1 tech fall. Shafer Ehmke earned MSU a 15-5 major decision at 197 pounds.

#5 Luke Tweeton ended the dual in quick fashion at heavyweight, pinning Carmine Morton at the 1:18 to secure a 45-7 victory for UMary.
