BISMARCK, ND – Winning by bonus points in nine of ten matches, including four victories by pins and three via technical falls, the 19
th ranked University of Mary wrestling team routed the University of Jamestown 51-4 in the Marauders final match before Christmas break.
This was the first-ever Northern Sun match between the two programs located 100 miles apart along I-94 as the Jimmies began competing in the NSIC this season. UMary is now 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the NSIC. Jamestown is 0-3 overall and in the NSIC.
Picking up pins on the night for UMary was

Kaden DeCoteau and
Sam Bruss claimed technical falls with a combined score in the three wins of 58-6. The Marauders also added two wins by forfeit.
The longest match of the night for the Marauders ended after five minutes when
Sam Bruss wrapped up the 184-pound match early with a 22-5 technical fall victory over Hayden Ramaeker, pairing a 3-point takedown with a 4-point near fall at the end of the second period.
Of the Marauders seven wins on the mat, the only other match that went into the second period was Gabe Mortenson's 21-1 thrashing of Harley Hadison at 133, which ended with a technical fall at 3:23.
The night opened with a forfeit win at 285 for UMary. Jamestown then won the first match on the mat at 125 by major decision. The rest of the night belonged to the Marauders.
Mortenson picked up UMary's first mat win at 133. A Jimmies forfeit at 141 pushed the Marauders lead to 17-4.
Behind the power of three near-falls in the first period, DeCoteau posted a 15-0 technical fall win at 149 that took just 2:51 and sent UMary into intermission with a 22-4 advantage.
At 157 Mueller picked up a pin at the 2:11 mark after leading 11-0 with two near falls to his credit.
Ewing delivered the first Marauders pin at 165, needing just 1:45 to finish the win.
In the Marauders fastest win of the night, Mushinsky pinned Colton Schaad at 1:22 in the 174 match.
After Bruss claimed the technical fall win at 184, Wiedrich put an exclamation mark on the night with a pin at 197 just 1:45 into the bout.
The Marauders next compete January 9-10 at the NWCA Division II Duals in Ceder Falls, IA.
