KKEARNEY, NE – The #14 University of Mary wrestling team delivered several standout performances at the UNK Younes Hospitality Open. Koltyn Grebel won the 141-pound weight class in the Amateur Division, and 15 Marauders placed in their respective weight classes.

Grebel opened with a 15-0 tech fall over Caiden Beagley (Western Colorado University). The Valley City, ND, native followed up by defeating Jaydon Vigil (Northeastern Junior College) by a 12-2 major decision and Jameal Agnew (Pratt Community College) by pinfall. He grinded out a 3-0 decision win over Titus Howell (Labette Community College) in his semifinal match. The freshman took gold in spectacular fashion, pinning Nick Dardanes (Adams State) at the 2:12 mark.

Jacob Strausbaugh (wrestling unattached) took third in the 133-pound weight class in the Elie Division. Strausbaugh began his day by pinning #3 Zach Ourada (Nebraska-Kearney) after 4:55 of action. He then earned tech fall victories over Scott Fulsos (Unattached) and Teagan Block (Northern State). He fell 13-7 in his semifinals match to NCAA Division I wrestler David Saenz (Wyoming). The freshman rallied back to pin Cody Phelps (Wyoming) at the 6:22 mark. The Soldotna, AK, native won his third-place match by a 10-7 decision over Garret Rinken (Northern Iowa).

Kaden Renner claimed 5^th place at 157 pounds in the Elite Division. Renner started with an 8-2 decision win over Sammy Mobly (Colorado Mesa University). He fell to Zach Ballante (South Dakota State) by a 4-2 decision in his next match. Renner came back and defeated Ayson Rice (Southeast Community College) by a 20-5 tech fall and Dez Garterell (Nebraska) by an 8-6 decision.
