BISMARCK, ND – An outstanding performance by freshman
Olivia Gibbons helped lead the University of Mary swimming and diving team to a dominant 171-27 win over Concordia College. The Marauders won all 11 events.
Gibbons set a school record in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, winning with a time of 1:05.11. She surpasses Rylie Webb's record of 1:05.79 set back in 2021. Gibbons also took down the 100 Yard IM, posting a time of 58.82.
The event opened with the 200 Yard Medley Relay as the team of Gibbons,
Maria Strong,
Emma Sheppard, and
Jordn Wolsky won with a time of 1:47.34.
Samantha Sheridan grabbed gold in the 1000 Yard Freestyle, recording a time of 10:42.05. The senior from Billings, MT, also won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:15.93.
Maria Strong recorded a time of 58.93 to take down the 100 Yard Backstroke. Strong followed up by winning the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 58.24.
Becca Smith was victorious in the 200 Yard Freestyle after she posted a time of 2:04.06.
Emma Sheppard impressed in the 50 free, winning with a time of 24.48.
Elise Altringer won the 100 Yard Freestyle, posting a time of 54.31.
The final event of the competition was the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, where the team of Gibbons, Strong, Sheppard, and
Taylor Miller took gold with a time of 1:38.02.
