DULUTH, MN – The University of Mary volleyball team fell on the road 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-21) to the #15 University of Minnesota Duluth.
UMary (4-10, 1-5 Northern Sun) recorded 23 kills on a .153 hitting percentage, while UMD (12-1, 5-1 NSIC) posted 51 kills on a .310 attack percentage. The Marauders had 22 assists and four aces, while the Bulldogs had 45 assists and five aces.
UMD grabbed an early 11-5 lead in the first set and never relinquished the lead, winning 25-16. The Bulldogs won seven of the last eight points in the second set to take a 25-16 victory.
Judith Burke put up five kills in the third set, but it would not be enough as UMD won 25-21 to claim the set and the match.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Holli Klettheimer recorded seven kills on a .429 hitting percentage. Klettheimer also had a team-high four blocks.
Judith Burke led the Marauders with eight kills while also producing six digs.
Natalie Boehmer had ten assists and seven digs.
Maddy Freed dished out 12 assists and five digs.
Dani Highum posted four digs, three kills and three blocks.
Katie Bleeker had six digs.
