SIOUX FALLS, SD – It was a dominant performance by the #11 University of Mary wrestling team as the Marauders shut out the University of Sioux Falls 45-0. UMary improves to 4-6 overall in dual competition and 2-3 in the Northern Sun.
The Marauders earned bonus points in seven out of the nine matches wrestled.
Mason Gutenberger started things off strong, earning a pinfall victory over Daniel Parra at 125 pounds. Not to be outdone, #1
Reece Barnhardt got his own pinfall victory over Beau Klingensmith at 133 pounds.
Wrestling for the first time this season at 141 pounds,
Chase Milligan grinded out a 3-2 decision over Jordon Oehme.
Trae Thilmony (149) cruised to a 14-4 major decision over Lane Fink.
Lane Ewing dominated at 157 pounds, defeating Lincoln Fink by a 17-4 major decision.
Leo Mushinsky (165) made a tremendous comeback as he trailed 6-1 in the third period before going on to win an 8-7 decision over Cooper Sanders.
Wyatt Lidberg (174) won an impressive 13-4 major decision over Grant Moraski.
Dante Roggio was outstanding at 184 pounds, winning by a 21-1 tech fall over Daevon Vereen.
Marco Reyes (197) defeated Stetson Davis by a 9-1 major decision. The Cougars forfeited the 285-pound weight class.
The Marauders next dual will be senior night. They host Northern State University on Friday, January 31, at 7 pm in the McDowell Activity Center.
