ABERDEEN, SD – Strong performances by
Samantha Sheridan and
Peyton Wunderlich help lead the University of Mary swimming & diving team to victories over Southwest Minnesota State University (116-105) and Northern State University (130-84).
Samantha Sheridan picked up the Marauders first victory on the day, taking down the 1000 yard freestyle with a time 11:10.42.
Lola Sheridan (11:40.98) and
Gabrielle Evanson (11:46.60) took third and fourth place.
Samantha Sheridan would also win the 500 yard freestyle after she posted a time of 5:27.67.
Peyton Wunderlich won the 50 yard freestyle, recording a time of 24.93.
Michaela Desmond (26.30) finished in 5
th place.
Wunderlich earned her second win of the day when she grabbed the 100 yard freestyle, posting a time of 54.79.
Madeline Desmond took home the gold in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.77. Following right behind Desmond was
Maria Strong (1:02.80) and
Lola Sheridan (1:04.53), who placed second and third.
The team of
Elise Altringer,
Madeline Desmond, Strong and Wunderlich grabbed second place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay after they recorded a time of 1:53.01.
Madeline Desmond finished second in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:03.01. Altringer placed second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
The Marauders return to Bismarck, ND, to celebrate homecoming weekend, hosting their first home swim meet of the season against Minnesota State University Moorhead on Saturday, October 5, at noon at the BSC Aquatic & Fitness Center.
