With the Marauders charging down the ice in overtime, a shot by
Jaren Hugelen was turned away by Bearcats goalie Chad Purdy. Zaste was perfectly placed to the right of the net and buried his golden opportunity to send the Marauders to the title game.
Conan Hayton was strong in net for the Marauders, turning aside 33 shots. Purdy finished with 36.
The two team committed just two penalties each with both sides unable to score on two power play opportunities apiece.

The Jimmies started slow, scoring just once in the first period before finding the net three times in the second to put away the Warriors. Jamestown scored its fifth goal in the third before Midland scored its lone goal of the day, just 24 hours after scoring eight goals in the opening game of the tournament. Brad Fortin scored the Jimmies first two goals and Reid Wilson the last two.
