ST. CLOUD, MN – On a night where points were hard to find, visiting University of Mary dropped a 66-50 decision to St. Cloud State University in Northern Sun men's basketball. The 66 points was the second-fewest the Marauders have allowed in a game this season.
UMary's (4-10 overall, 2-3 NSIC) season-low for points allowed is 60 in a win at South Dakota Mines. The 66 points is the second-fewest SCSU (7-6, 3-2) has scored this season.
Gunner Swanson came off the bench to deliver a team-high 11 points for the Marauders. The junior guard hit three treys in the game, all in the first half. His 3
rd trey came at the buzzer to end the first half, closing the Marauders within 34-30 at intermission after UMary trailed by as many as 13 points.
Behind a barrage of treys, the Huskies opened the second half on a 17-2 run that featured five 3-pointers to claim an insurmountable 51-32 lead. SCSU finished the game 12-for-22 on 3-pointers and shot 51.1% from the floor overall.
Ty Rogers also scored 11 points for UMary, going 3-for-5 from the floor while making all four of his free throws.
Jeremiah Jones added six points and a team-best six rebounds.
Lucas Morgan hit all five of his 3-point attempts for SCSU on his way to a game-high 17 points. Luke Winkel scored 15 off the bench while making 3-of-4 treys.
