MANDAN, ND – Scoring the final three goals of the game, #17 University of Mary rallied past #19 Midland University 3-1 to complete a weekend sweep of the Midwest College Hockey series. Skating rapidly down the left boards, Schleusner fired a low angle shot from the bottom of the left circle that Warriors goalkeeper Liam Tereposky was unable to control. The puck bounced right back to Schleusner in front of the net for an easy tap-in for the native of Mountain Lake Terrace, WA.
Crae Dawson gave the Marauders their first lead of the night. UMary won a faceoff in the right circle. With the puck sitting on the dot, Dawson swooped in and fired a shot past Tereposky for a 2-1 Marauders advantage at 12:04 of the second.
Derek Dropik scored a goal for the second straight game with a nifty goal midway through the third period. Taking a feed from
Joe Gronholz at the bottom of the right circle, Dropik cut across the goal mouth before delivering a backhander into the open right side of the net.
Marino Ramirez kept the UMary lead at two goals with a spectacular save with 7:31 to play on a Warriors breakaway. The Marauders just missed a goal of their own seconds later when a shot bounced off the post and was covered by Tereposky.
