BISMARCK, ND – It was an all-around great performance by the University of Mary women's basketball team as the Marauders rolled past Concordia College 96-53 in an exhibition.
UMary received contributions from everyone as 11 Marauders found themselves on the score sheet.
Moriku Hakim led the way as the senior scored 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
Bergan Kinnebrew ran the show for the Marauders, scoring 13 points while contributing seven rebounds and five assists.
Ava Interrante posted 11 points while going 3-of-4 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.
The bench produced great production for UMary, scoring 43 points.
Emily Jaenke led all bench scorers with 14 points, shooting 4-of-6 from behind the arc.
Cassie Erickson dropped 11 points as she shot 5-of-7 from the field.
The game opened with the Marauders taking a 21-15 lead after the first quarter. UMary dominated in the second quarter, outscoring the Cobbers 38-12 to take a 59-27 lead going into halftime. The Marauders continued their strong play in the second half as UMary outscored CC 37-26 to win the game 96-53.
UMary shot 54.4 percent from the field while shooting 12-of-26 from behind the arc. CC posted a 31.3 shooting percentage from the field as they went 2-of-14 from three.
The Marauders went 10-of-15 from the free throw line, while the Cobbers shot 11-of-14 from the charity stripe. UMary won the rebounding battle 43-38 over CC.
The Marauders open their regular season at home against Dickinson State University on Thursday, November 14, at 6 pm in the McDowell Activity Center.
