BISMARCK, ND – The 2024 season wraps up this weekend for the University of Mary volleyball team as the Marauders host their final two matches at the McDowell Activity Center. UMary opens against #15 Wayne State College on Friday, November 15, at 6 pm. The Marauders then take on the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday, November 16, at 3:30 pm.

THE RECORD
UMary is 4-20 overall and 2-14 in the Northern Sun. The Marauders currently sit in 14
th place in the Northern Sun standings.
STAT LEADERS
Charli Blackman leads the Marauders in kills with 201 and is second on the team in digs (231).
Kaia Sueker has the most digs on the team (394). She ranks 8
th in the NSIC in total digs and 7
th in digs per set (4.58).
Maddy Freed has dished out the most assists with 794. She is 8
th in the conference in total assists and 7
th in assists per set (9.50). Freed also has the most aces (25) on the team.
Gabby Caskey leads the team in blocks (43) and has the second most kills (194).
LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders were defeated by Augustana University in four sets (25-21, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18).
Holli Klettheimer recorded eight kills and four blocks.
Kaia Sueker posted 26 digs and
Maddy Freed dished out 38 assists.
OPPO RESEARCH – WAYNE STATE COLLEGE
WSC is ranked 15
th nationally and has a record of 20-6 overall and 12-4 in the Northern Sun. The Wildcats are led by middle hitter Taya Beller, who has the most kills (333) on the team. Beller also leads the team in blocks with 115. Setter Molly Ramona has posted a team-best 1001 assists. Defensive specialist Brooke Peltz leads WSC in digs with 481.
OPPO RESEARCH – UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS
USF is 13-11 overall and 8-8 in the NSIC. Outside hitter Sadi Voss leads the Cougars in kills with 363. Setter Elise Gillen has 879 assists to lead the team. Middle blocker Jordan Kuper has a team-best 100 blocks. Libero Caitlin Kellner has posted 292 digs, the most on USF.
KAIA SUEKER MARADUERS ALL-TIME DIGS LEADER
Kaia Sueker achieved history for the University of Mary volleyball team as the Marshall, MN, native is now the all-time NCAA digs leader for the UMary.
Sueker currently has 1754 career digs, 188 more than the previous record holder, Alex Brown (2013-2016). Sueker surpassed Brown in the Marauders match against Winona State University. She had 23 digs against the Warriors.
THE STAFF
Abby Pollart returns for her fourth season as the head coach of Marauders Volleyball. Joining Pollart, also for her fourth season in the program, is assistant coach
Bree Spenner, as well as
Madeleine Callicoat in her first season as a Graduate Assistant Coach.

MARAUDERS PICKED TO FINISH 12
TH IN THE NSIC
The 2024 NSIC Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll projected the Marauders to finish 12
th in the Northern Sun this upcoming season. Last season, UMary took 12
th in the NSIC after finishing the season with a 9-19 record overall and a 4-14 record in conference action.
NSIC PLAYER TO WATCH
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced that returning fifth-year senior
Maddie Cooper is the player to watch for UMary for the 2024 season. Cooper is the Marauders leading returner from last year in kills (204), kills per set (2.04), blocks (77), blocks per set (0.75), and hitting percentage (.230). The Fargo, ND, native also provided UMary with 24 serving aces and 50 digs last season.
