INDIANAPOLIS – An impressive season by the University of Mary earned the Marauders a spot in the first NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Regional Rankings of 2024. UMary is one of ten schools listed as under consideration for postseason play in the Central region.
UMary is 8-3-3 overall and in NCAA Central Region contests. The Marauders are 6-2-3 in Northern Sun play and is tied for fifth in league standings with 21 points.
The first of three Central Region rankings, UMary is one of five Northern Sun teams included in the poll, joining Augustana, Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota State and St. Cloud State.
The first Central Region rankings of the season lists schools under postseason consideration in alphabetical order.
The
NSIC, the
Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA) and the
Great American Conference (GAC) make up the 35-team NCAA Central Region. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA region tournament. The two top-seeded teams in each region shall be offered the opportunity to host, provided minimum site selection criteria are met and a bid has been submitted. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA, GAC and NSIC postseason tournaments, with the remaining five spots awarded on an at-large basis.
The NCAA Women's Soccer selection show will be streamed online on Monday, Nov. 18 at NCAA.com at 5:30 pm (CT).
The first/second round matches of the regional tournament will take place on campus on November 22-24 while third/quarterfinal rounds will be contested at campus sites on December 1 & 7.
The 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Semifinal and Championship will take place on December 13 & 15 at Sportsplex at Matthews in Matthews, NC, and hosted by Wingate University.

The Marauders close out the regular season with three straight home games, starting on Friday, November 1, when UMary hosts Wayne State College in a cancer awareness game at 1 pm at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
The NSIC tournament opens November 11 with the semifinals November 15 and the tournament championship November 17.
