MCH MEETING
For the first time, the Marauders and the Beavers are competing against each other in a Midwest College Hockey contest. UMary joined the MCH last season. This is Minot State's first year playing in the MCH. The two teams will play each other four times this season in MCH games. Â

Since moving to ACHA MD1 last season the Marauders are 1-7 against the Beavers… UMary's lone win was a 5-3 victory at home January 24, 2024… Minot State captured the lone meeting this season, 5-4 in Mandan.

Lyndon Orr scored with 75 seconds left in overtime to give the Marauders a 4-3 win over the Ice Bears.

The first five UMary ACHA MD1 opponents this season were all nationally-ranked teams. UMary swept two games from #25 Iowa State and #18 Illinois State before taking a 5-4 loss to #3 Minot State. Overall 9 of the first 11 ACHA MD1 games for UMary are against nationally ranked teams. Â

UMARY JUMPS UP A SPOT TO #7 IN ACHA MD1 NATIONAL RANKINGS
UMary moved up another run in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division I rankings. In the third coaches' poll of the regular season the Marauders climbed to #7, a season-high. UMary opened the 2024-5 season ranked #11 and spent the last two weeks at #8 in the poll.

The Marauders are 6-2-0-0-0 when playing a nationally-ranked team, sweeping 2-game series from #25 Iowa State University, #18 Illinois State University and #19 Missouri State while losing single games to #3 Minot State University and #6 University of Jamestown.Â

This weekend UMary hosts #3 Minot State in a single game on Saturday, October 26, at 7 pm, meaning nine of the Marauders first 11 ACHA MD1 games this season are against ranked teams.Â

The fourth ranking of the regular season will be released on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

The first polls of the season are determined by votes of the coaches. The computer rankings commence November 1 and will determine the 24 teams that qualify for the 2025 ACHA Men's Division I National Championships, in addition to eight league champions.

THE JUG SERIES OPENED SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2024
Located just 100 miles apart on I-94, the University of Mary and the University of Jamestown have agreed to present the winning team of the yearly series of games a traveling trophy, the Bridgeman Russell Company Jug, or simply "The Jug". UMary has purchased and had "The Jug" painted and logoed. Each winning team is responsible for placing their institution's name and record in the series on "The Jug" each season at their cost using Mann Signs of Bismarck, ND, to ensure consistency.

MARAUDERS PICKED 3rD IN MCH NORTH PRESEASON POLL
The University of Mary is picked to finish third in the Midwest College Hockey North Division in the preseason coaches poll. A powerhouse division, the top three teams are all ranked nationally in the ACHA Men's Division I poll. Preseason favorite and MCH newcomer Minot State is ranked 3
rd in the country. Jamestown, the defending MCH regular season and tournament champion, is #8. The Marauders, the regular season and post-season runner-up in their first season in the MCH, is #11 in the nation.

Teams in MCH plays each program in their own division each season and will play teams in the opposite division every other season. The Marauders will play North Division teams Minot State, Jamestown, Midland and Waldorf and South Division foes Illinois State and Northern Illinois. UMary will face Iowa State three times – all non-conference – and will not play McKendree and Illinois.

2024-25 is year two for UMary competing in American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division I. The Marauders spent their first five seasons at ACHA MD2, twice winning a national title (2021, 2022) and finishing with an all-time record of 13-1 at the national tournament.

The Marauders joined Midwest College Hockey in 2023-24, finishing the season second both the regular season (46 points with a record of 15-4-0-0-1) and the MCH tournament, which was hosted by UMary.
