BISMARCK, ND – It was a record-setting shutout performance by the #13 University of Mary wrestling team as the Marauders took down the University of Sioux Falls 49-0. The Marauders won all ten matches as UMary recorded four pinfalls, three tech falls and one major decision.
UMary broke several NCAA-era school records in the dual:
- Most points scored in a dual against an NCAA opponent (48-3 win vs. Central Missouri 1/22/12)
- Tied for most points in a dual against all opponents (49-5 win vs University of Regina 11/7/2015)
- Largest margin of victory over an NCAA D2 opponent (48-3 win vs. Central Missouri 1/22/12)
- Largest Margin of victory (47-0 win vs. University of Jamestown 12/2/15)
- Most team points in an NSIC match (42 vs. Southwest Minnesota State 12/1/23, vs. Minot State 1/22/24)
- Largest margin of victory in an NSIC match (41 at MSU Moorhead 1/13/22, vs. MSU Moorhead 12/9/21)
Senion Day honoree
Jaden Verhagen (125) opened the day with an incredible win. Verhagen was down 4-3 before a last-second takedown earned him a 6-4 decision victory over Paul Garcia.

Reece Barnhardt (133) earned his second pinfall in as many days, pinning Beau Klingensmith at the 2:48 mark.
Kaden DeCoteau (141) followed by earning a 10-8 decision victory over Beau Beavers.
Kaden Renner (149) put on an impressive performance as he pinned Cooper Sanders at the 1:25 mark.

Braydon Huber (157) then scored a 14-2 major decision over John Tyler.
Leo Mushinsky (165) came out dominant, winning a 23-8 tech fall over Lincoln Fink. Not to be outdone, #8
Max Bruss (174) pinned Ashtin Johnson at the 1:09 mark.

Wyatt Lidberg earned a 16-4 technical fall over Timothy Lacina at the 4:08 mark. Lidberg surpasses Huber for most tech falls in NCAA history for the Marauders.
#6 Matt Kaylor continued the momentum for UMary, earning a 17-2 tech fall over Isaiah Laguna.
Jose Reyes was named dude of the dual by pinning Rocky Wiedman at the 2:21 mark.
In addition to Verhagen, the Marauders also honored fellow seniors Bruss, Huber,
Drew Steidler and
Laken Boese before the match.
UMary is now 8-4 overall and 4-2 in the Northern Sun. The Marauders travel to Aberdeen, SD, to take on Northern State University on Friday, February 2, at 7 pm.
