Seven Marauders earn CSC Basketball Academic All-District honors

BISMARCK, ND – Seven University of Mary basketball players earned 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
Addison Rozell, Megan Voit, Ryleigh Wacha and Megan Zander were selected from the Marauders women's team. Treyton Mattern, Veljko Radakovic and Gertautas Urbonavicius earned Academic All-District honors from the men's team.
 
A sophomore from Redfield, SD, Rozell is a biology major. She is a starter at forward for the Marauders and averages 8.6 points and a team-best 5.4 rebounds per game. Rozell also leads the team with 20 blocks and males 81.5% of her free throws.
 
Voit is a senior from Sauk Rapids, MN, and will graduate with a nursing degree. A starter since late in her freshman season, she is one of the top 3-point shooters in the nation. She led the NSIC in treys made per game (2.9) and 3-point shooting percentage (37.9%) as a junior in 2021-22. This season Voit is second on the team in scoring (9.2 ppg) and is 61-of-172 from behind the arc, a shooting percentage of 35.5%. She is second all-time in career 3-pointers made during the UMary NCAA era with 213.
 
A native of Fargo, ND, Wacha is a sophomore pursuing a degree in exercise science. The second-year starter at guard averages 8.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game and is second on the squad in shooting with a field goal percentage of 45.7%.
 
Zander, a senior from Mandan, ND, is majoring in communication/marketing. The Marauders starting guard averages a team-high 14.8 points per game to rank 15th in the NSIC. She is second on the team in rebounding with 5.2 per game and makes 86.5% of her free throws.
 
Mattern is a junior from Bismarck, ND, who is majoring in physical education. In his second season as a starting guard, Mattern averaged a career-best 12.0 points. He led the squad in assists (3.1/game) and 3-point shooting percentage (41.1%). Mattern scored a career-high 26 points in the final game of the season.
 
Hailing from Novi Sad, Serbia, Radakovic is a junior pursuing a degree in business administration. A key frontcourt reserve for the Marauders, Radakovic played all 26 games for UMary and made three starts. He averaged 2.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
 
Urbonavicius is a financial services and banking major from Vilnius, Lithuania. The senior is a 2-year starter at forward for UMary and contributed 9.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game for the Marauders. He knocked down 45.5% of his shots, including a 39.3% effort from behind the arc.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
