#1 Marauders host #1 Beavers in home finale, Senior Night on Saturday, February 18

THIS WEEKEND
Two-time defending national champion University of Mary hockey team wraps up their 2022-23 home schedule in a marque matchup between the #1 teams in each of the top two levels of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The Marauders, the top-ranked team in ACMA M2, hosts ACHA M1 #1 Minot State University. Senior Night for UMary, the Highway 83 rivalry game is slated to start at 7 pm on Saturday, February 18, at the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink in Mandan, ND.

SENIOR NIGHT
The Marauders will honor four skaters Saturday on Senior Night. Alex Flicek, Drew Lenertz, Cyril Nagurski and Noah Scordato all were members of both UMary championship teams (2020-21, 2021-22). Flicek, Lenertz and Nagurski have played on all five of the Marauders squads, joining the program for the inaugural 2018-19 season. Flicek will leave the program as the Marauders all-time leading scorer. Lenertz has played in every single Marauders game in program history. Scordato played three seasons before taking an off-ice role with the program this season.

1 v 1
The Marauders and the Beavers have faced off three times this season. In all three games both teams have been ranked #1 in the nation in their respective ACHA divisions. This will be the last time the two teams will be able to both claim #1 status in the same game as the Marauders elevate their level and will join the Beavers in competing in ACHA Men's Division 1.

ON TO NATIONALS
To no surprise, the University of Mary earned an automatic berth into the ACHA M2 national tournament as the top-ranked team in the West region in the final rankings of the season released February 14, allowing the Marauders to bypass the regional tournament. The top two teams in all four ACHA regions earn automatic spots in the national tournament. Teams 3-14 in regional polls earn regional tournament bids with the chance to earn a spot in the national tournament.

The 2023 ACHMA M2 tournament is slated for March 17-21 in Marlborough, MA.

POOL C
UMary will be the top seed in Pool C. The University of Saint Thomas also joins UMary in Pool C. The other two teams will be determined at the conclusion of regional tournaments held later this month.
