MINOT, ND - It was an exciting performance for the #5 University of Mary wrestling team as they defeated in-state rivals #25 Minot State University 29-12. The Marauders went 7-3 in their matchups, including winning two by pinfall and two by major decisions.
 
#5 Matt Kaylor (197) got UMary up and running in the first match of the night, winning by a 12-1 major decision over Cannon Potts.
 
#10 Luke Tweeton (285) fell to former All-American Jake Swirple by a 2-1 tiebreaker in overtime due to riding time.
 
Jaden Verhagen (125) continues his impressive start to the season by pinning Logen Fischer at the 2:05 mark.
 
Competing in his first dual match of the season, Reece Barnhardt (133) overcame an early takedown to grab a 6-3 decision victory over Wayne Joint.
 
Kaden DeCoteau (141) kept the momentum going for the Marauders as he defeated Ethan Wonser in a close 11-9 decision. The freshman earned Dude of the Dual honors for UMary as he avenged a loss from earlier in the season. DeCoteau now leads the Marauders in wins. 
 
Kaden Renner (149) lost an exciting back-and-forth contest to Kasius Grahm by a 14-10 decision.
 
Leo Mushinsky (157) grinded out a tough victory over Ryan Hrcka, winning via a 6-5 tiebreaker in overtime.
 
In a surprising upset, #5 Braydon Huber (165) was pinned by Brandon Barnes at the 6:33 mark.
 
#2 Max Bruss (174) secured a UMary dual victory as the senior pinned Daniels Bendiks at the 6:46 mark.
 
#10 Wyatt Lidberg (184) finished the dual in style as the Albertville, MN, native won by a 15-2 major decision over Cayden White.
 
The Marauders next competition is the 44th Midwest Classic, starting on Saturday, December 16, and finishing on Sunday, December 17, in Indianapolis, IN.
