Lalim, Dyson earn 2023 All-Northern Sun football honors

BURNSVILLE, MN – The University of Mary landed a pair of Marauders on the 2023 All-Northern Sun football team. Senior lineman Drake Lalin and sophomore wide receiver Traivon Dyson both earned All-NSIC second team recognition in a vote by league coaches.

Lalim has been a mainstay for UMary since he walked on campus. The native of Saint Stephen, MN, anchored the Marauders offensive line at left tackle since he was a true freshman in 2019. After serving as a reserve his first two collegiate games, he moved into a starting role in his third game. Lalim finished his career making 42 straight starts and played in all 44.

A team captain since his sophomore year, Lalim earned All-NSIC honorable mention selection as freshman in 2019. He protected the Marauders quarterback's blind side as UMary led the nation in passing in 2021. Lalim is also an NSIC all-academic team member.

One of the leading receivers in the Northern Sun, Dyson made a major impact for the Marauders in his second season. The Las Vegas, NV, native led the Marauders with eight touchdowns and 649 yards receiving on 47 catches. He is 4th in the Northern Sun and 24th in NCAA Division II in touchdown catches, 8th in the NSIC in receiving yards and 10th in receptions.

Twice Dyson caught a pair of touchdowns in a game, including a breakout performance in the home finale where he caught six passes for 150 yards and two scores (32 and 38 yards) as the Marauders rallied past Southwest Minnesota State University. He cracked the century mark for receiving yards a second consecutive game when he caught a career-high nine passes for 137 yards in the season finale at MSU Moorhead.
