MOORHEAD, MN – A new pool record set by
Victoria Murillo highlighted the University of Mary efforts in a swim dual at Northern Sun rival MSU Moorhead.
Murillo captured all three of the Marauders event wins on the day. The All-American broke an MSUM pool record in the 400 yard freestyle, posting a time of 5:13.12 to win the race by over 19 seconds.
Additionally Murillo placed first in the 1000 yard free with a clocking of 10:47.09. The senior also won the 50 yard free in 30.90 seconds.
Several Marauders had Top 3 finishes:
- Maria Strong placed second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.64) and the 50 fly (27.34)
- Michaela Desmond was 3rd in the 200 free (2:05.48) and the 50 back (28.63)
- Elise Altringer was 2nd in the 100 backstroke (1:15.35) and 3rd in the 50 free (34.44)
- Maddy Desmond placed 3rd in the 100 fly (1:03.69)
- Camille Merimee was 3rd in the 50 free (25.51)
- Jordn Wolsky claimed 3rd in the 50 fly (28.53) and 3rd in the 100 backstroke (1:03.03)
- Miki Brackin came in 3rd in the 100 backstroke (1:16.80) and the 200 IM (2:24.96)
- Allie Elliot placed 3rd in the 500 free (5:43.26)
MSUM won the team title 199-90.
The Marauders next compete in St. Paul against St. Catherine and Concordia-St. Paul on Oct. 13-14.
