MANDAN, ND –
Conan Hayton was perfect between the pipes and #21 University of Mary scored a goal in all three periods for a 3-0 victory to complete a weekend sweep of visiting #23 Missouri State University.
Making his fourth straight start, Hayton turned away all 21 shots he faced from the Ice Bears. UMary limited the Missouri State attack to just a pair of shots in the first period before the Ice Bears offense increased their intensity as the game progressed. Hayton faced nine shots in the second and 10 in the third and turned away all of them.
Tanner Eskro opened the scoring with an unassisted goal just 5:25 into the game. It was a team-leading sixth goal of the year for Eskro, who has tallied in all five UMary games this season.

Johnny Witzke helper at 17:40 of the second sent the Marauders into the last intermission leading 2-0.
Isaiah Thomas cemented the Marauders win with an empty net goal with 46 seconds left in the game.
The Marauders improve to 3-1-0-0-1 on the season. The Ice Bears have dropped three straight games in North Dakota.
UMary continues a 5-game home stand when the Marauders host Midland University at 7 pm on Friday, Oct. 20, and at 5 pm on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink.
