ANNETTE PIERCE KICK CANCER MEMORIAL GAME SET FOR FRIDAY
Aiming to "Kick Out Cancer" by raising awareness of the importance of early detection and risk reduction while also honoring cancer fighters, survivors, and those who have lost their lives, the University of Mary women's soccer team hosts Bemidji State University in the Annette Pierce Kick Cancer Memorial Game on Friday, October 13. Game time is 3 pm at the Sanford Sports Complex. Friday's game honors the memory of Annette Pierce, mother of former Marauders defender Cassidy Pierce. A faithful and loyal Marauders fan, Annette passed away from cancer in June 2022. Cassidy was an all-conference player and team captain for the Marauders and completed her eligibility after the 2021 season.

MARAUDERS PAST SEASON MIDPOINT
The Marauders opened the second half of the season last weekend at the University of Minnesota Duluth. UMary now has seven regular season games remaining with 11 in the books.

CREATING CHAOS
Ava Vizenor played a key role in the Marauders attack last weekend. In her third season as a starter, the junior from Big Lake, MN, picked up her first collegiate assist and goal. Moved to the midfield this season after two years on the back line, Vizenor provided the helping hand on the Marauders lone goal in a 1-1 draw at Minnesota Duluth. Two days later she scores her first career goal on a header off a Mo Malone corner kick.

MORE MO
Team co-captain Mo Malone has played a key role in the Marauders attack this season. The all-conference performer bent home a corner kick in a 1-0 UMary win over visiting MSU Moorhead in non-conference action. She has also posted a team-leading three assists, with all coming in the last four games. The defensive midfielder has also played a key role in the Marauders posting four shutouts and allowing just a goal a game… Malone has one goal and three assists for a team-leading five points. She is 4th in the NSIC with three assists and a .273 assist average/game.

UMary played both Grand Valley and Central Missouri in non-conference matches hosted by Minnesota State in Mankato, MN, before hosting Minnesota State last week in a Northern Sun game. Additionally UMary faced St. Cloud State when the Huskies were getting votes. Also the Marauders Friday foe – Bemidji State – is receiving votes.
