Making their first road trip of the season, the University of Mary football team visits Winona State University in a crossover meeting between teams from the NSIC North and the NSIC South divisions. Kickoff is slated for 1 pm at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winona, MN.

Marauders overcame a 14 point deficit to take a 28-27 lead with 7:01 to play
Wildcats scored winning TD with 1:46 to play
Danny Kittner caught 8 passes for 114 yards and 1 TD and threw a 29 yard pass to Logan Nelson
Nelson was 18-of-32 for 271 yards and 1 TD and caught a 29 yard pass

MARAUDERS-WARRIORS SERIES HISTORY
This is the 9th meeting between the Marauders and the Warriors
Winona State leads the series 8-1 and has won the last six games
UMary is 0-4 at home and 1-4 at Winona State
The Warriors scored the first 14 points in 2021 before UMary came back to take a 38-31 4th quarter lead. Winona State then ran off 17 points to win 48-38. 
Danny Kittner set school records with 235 yards receiving and 371 all purpose yards, catching 13 passes and scoring 3 TDs. 

RECORD WATCH | KITTNER
Danny Kittner is closing in on the Marauders career record for receiving yards. After a big opening week the senior wide receiver has 2,779 yards receiving, just two yards behind Elby Pope's 2,781
Kittner, the Marauders all-time leading receiver with 209 catches, has caught 25 touchdown passes and trails only Jake Pfau (34) and Tyler Steffan and Luke Little (30). 

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Logan Nelson moved into a 4th place tie in passing yardage with Paul Cronin (4,970)... Craig Bagnell is the all-time leader (9,170), followed by Chris Schwab (7,786) and Tim Garcia (5,154)
Nelson is 5th in TD passes with 49. Craig Bagnell leads with 75, followed by Chris Schwab (73), Tim Garcia (58) and Paul Cronin (55). 

IN SIGHT
With 73 yards rushing in the opener Dave Small Jr. has pushed his career total to 867 yards one game into his second season at UMary. He needs 133 yards on the ground to become just the 15th Marauder to crack 1,000 career yards rushing. 

QUICK HITTER STORY LINES
The Marauders have posted over 400 yards in their last four game, dating back to last season 
UMary has scored at least 28 points in five straight games
The 2021 NCAA Division II leader in passing yards per game, the Marauders have passed for at least 300 yards in six straight contests

All-Americans Danny Kittner and Logan Nelson both had strong debuts in 2022 and look to build on their opening week performances. Kittner caught 8 passes for 114 yards and 1 TD and Nelson passed for 271 yards and 1 TD to key a passing attack that threw for 300 yards. 
Keyed by a veteran offensive line, UMary ran for 151 yards against a stout Wayne State defense. UMary exceeded 150 yards rushing just once in 2021. 
All-NSIC running back Dave Small Jr. and redshirt freshman Gabe Levy keyed a Marauders rally against the Wildcats. The duo combined to rush for 141 yards and three scores.
UMary's streak of three straight 40+ point games was snapped against WSC 
The Marauders heartbreaking loss to the Wildcats is UMary's 4th loss in the last two years by 7 or fewer points and the 4th after holding a 4th quarter lead
Two of the four losses came in the last two minutes of play
The Marauders four wins in 2021 doubled their win total from 2019 and is the most since posting five wins in 2014

DEBUTS
13 scholar-athletes made their collegiate debuts for the Marauders in week one. Among those wearing the Blue & Orange for the first time were transfers Adam Brown, Sonny Brown, Jordan Duson, Korvin Feagins, Caden Green and Xavier Lewis, redshirt freshmen Tre Gola-Callard, Jaxon Feller, Raphael Hamilton, Ian Kopf, Gabe Levy, Mason Phillips,  and true freshman Jaxon Young.

Senior WR Danny Kittner has earned several preseason accolades after earning unanimous All-American honors in 2021:

NELSON NAMED TO PRESEASON ELITE 100
All-American senior QB Logan Neson was named to the 2022 D2Football.com Elite 100 team. The Billings, MT, native threw for 3,732 yards and 41 touchdowns while tossing just six interceptions and completing 65% of his passes. The NSIC North 1st team quarterback set single season UMary and NSIC records for passing yards while the scoring passes are a Marauders record... Twice he threw six touchdowns in a single game to tie the school record... He earned Don Hansen All-American honorable mention honors and D2Football.com Elite 100 team in 2021. 

TY'RESE GIBSON NAMED NSIC PLAYER TO WATCH
1st team All-NSIC North Division CB Ty'Rese Gibson was named the Marauders Defensive Player to Watch in 2022 in the conference preseason coaches' poll. A junior from Los Angeles, CA, Gibson picked off a team-leading two passes for 51 return yards. Both his interceptions led to points for UMary. He also broke up five passes and made 29 tackles (22 solo). Gibson also earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors.
