BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary hockey team now knows the pathway back towards repeating as national champions. The American Collegiate Hockey Association has released the Men's Division 2 tournament brackets for the 2022 ACHA M2 tournament set for March 14-18 in St. Louis, MO, and the 2021 defending tournament national champion Marauders face a trio of brand-new foes.
The Marauders, ranked 1
st in the nation and the #1 seed from the West Region, opens pool play on Monday, March 14, against the University of Wisconsin, the 4
th seed from the Central. The Badgers ranked 10
th in the final Central region rankings and 22
nd in ACHA M2. Game time is 5:45 pm.
Day two features the Marauders skating against #3 seed Indiana University, the 7
th ranked team from the Southeast region final rankings and 18
th in the country. Face off is 5:15 pm.
In the final game in pool play on Wednesday, March 16, at 8:45 pm, the Marauders square off against #2 seed Northeastern University, ranked 2nd in the Northeast Region and 11
th nationally.
The Marauders are 31-4-1-2 entering the last weekend of the season at the University of Minnesota Crookston on March 4-5. UMary owns a 30-2-0-2 against ACHA M2 teams this year and hasn't lost to an M2 team since October 15, 2021.
