THIS WEEK
The University of Mary hockey team plays their last home games of the 2021-22 season when the Marauders host the 4-team Dakota Cup on Friday-Sunday, February 11-13. The Marauders first face the University of Jamestown on Friday, February 11, at 7 pm. Senior Day is up next for the Marauders when UMary tangles with Williston State College at 7 pm on Saturday, February 12. The home schedule wraps up on Sunday, February 13, when nationally-ranked foes UMary and Dakota College at Bottineau square off at 2 pm. All games will be played at the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink.  
 
DAKOTA CUP
UMary hosts the first Dakota Cup February 11-13 as four of North Dakota's American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 2 programs converge in Mandan, ND, for a round-robin tournament. Competing for the Dakota Cup is UMary, Dakota College at Bottineau, the University of Jamestown and Williston State College.

All games will be played at the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink.
 
Tickets for Marauders hockey games are available online at www.UMaryTickets.com and at the gate. Adult tickets are $10 while senior citizen and youth tickets (13-18 years old) are $5. UMary students and faculty with their MCard and youth 12 and younger are admitted free.
 
A UMary hockey ticket allows you to attend both games each day for the Dakota Cup. Tickets will also be sold at the gate for all contests.
 
SENIOR NIGHT
The Marauders will honor their five seniors on Saturday, February 12, when UMary hosts Williston State at 7 pm.  UMary will honor its five seniors during the game with a presentation during the first intermission. The five seniors are Zach Garrett, Andrew Heckaman, Marcus Kopp, Kyler Moore and Marshall Tschida.
 
RECORD
The Marauders are 27-4-1-2 (W-L-OTL-T) on the season… UMary is 11-1-1 at home, 13-3-0-2 on the road and 3-0-0-0 on neutral ice… Against ACHA M2 squads the Marauders are 24-2-0-2.
 
MARAUDERS REMAIN #1 IN NATION FOR 9th STRAIGHT WEEK IN 2021-22, 14^th STRAIGHT WEEK OVERALL
The Marauders continue to top the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division 2 rankings. The defending ACHA M2 champions has ranked first in all nine polls released this season. The Marauders have ranked first nationally in 14 straight polls dating back to the start of the 2020-21.

13 – The Marauders 4^th line has had an incredibly productive last four games as Marcus Kopp, Justin Ohnstad and Braeden Zaste have totaled 13 points (4 goals 9 assists). The trio had two goals and four assists Saturday in the 5-2 win over Montana State. In a 12-2 win at Williston State the trio had one goal and three assists. In a 3-0 home win over Dakota College they combined for a goal and an assist. At DCB they had one assist in a 3-1 victory.
 
POWER PLAY
UMary are converting 30% of their power play opportunities into goals, scoring on 39 of 130 opportunities. Marauders opponents convert on 13.2% (14-of-106) of its opportunities. During one stretch the Marauders had killed off 44 straight power plays by their opponents.
 
LEADING THE PACK
To no surprise, Marauders all-time leading scorer Alex Flicek leads UMary in points (39), is 3^rd in goals (16) and 3^rd in assists (23)… Zach Garrett is tied with Flicek for points (38) with 15 goals and 24 assists… Seth Cushing owns a team-high 17 goals and has 19 assists and 36 points… Garrett Freeman is tied for 3^rd in points with 36 (17G/19A)… All-American Johnny Witzke is 5^th in points with 33 (7G/26A)… Kyler Moore owns 32 points with 15 goals and 17 assists… Marshall Tschida has contributed 31 points from the blue line (12G/19A).  
 
BRICK WALL
The trio of Marauders netminders are each having incredible seasons. All-American Kyle Hayden is 18-3-0-2 with five shutouts, a 1.74 goals against average and a .934 save percentage… Conan Hayton is 7-1-1-0 with a 2.04 GAA and a .921 save percentage… Quinn Ackerman owns a record of 2-0-0-0 with a 0.71 GAA and a .965 save percentage… overall the UMary goalkeepers own seven shutouts with a 1.87 goals against average and a .926 save percentage.

Zach Garrett joined Alex Flicek this season as the only two Marauders who have produced 200 points in their UMary careers.
 
IRON MEN
In the fourth season as a program since first taking to the ice in Sept. 2018, the Marauders have played 180 games. Defensive partners Marshall Tschida and Drew Lenertz have played in every game.
 
TIMING
14 Marauders have game-winning goals this season with Seth Cushing (4), Zach Garrett (4) and Garrett Freeman (3) leading the way… Connor Hanson has had impressive timing on his goals as two of his three counters are game-winners… Kyler Moore, Johnny Witzke, Tanner Eskro and Alex Flicek each own two game winning goals to give the Marauders seven skaters with multiple game-winning goals.

Head coach Dan Huntley is the two-time ACHA M2 Coach of the Year (2020, 2021)… Zach Garrett is the 2021 ACHA M2 Player of the Year… Garrett, Johnny Witzke and Kyle Hayden were named to the 2021 All-American Team… UMary was named the 2021 NDAPSSA non-school Team of the Year in 2021.
