Marauders set to host Dragons Saturday in coaching debut for Evans

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary swimming team hosts their second of three home meets on Saturday, November 5, when the Marauders host MSU Moorhead. Start time is 1 pm at the BSC Aquatic & Fitness Center.

Saturday's meet marks the Marauders debut of new UMary head coach Ryan Evans. Evans joined the program earlier in the week as the 3rd head coach in team history. Previously an assistant coach at the University of New Mexico and the University of Nevada-Reno and the head coach for the Reno Aquatic Club, Evans competed collegiately at the University of Iowa.

After starting with a pair of meets to start October before a break in the schedule, the Marauders returned to the pool last Saturday for a dual at Northern State University. Victoria Murillo picked up a pair of individual wins, a relay win and a runner-up finish. Breena DeLegge had a pair of individual and two relay wins. Michaela Desmond had the Marauders 7th win of the day.

Murillo, a 7-time conference champion, earned NSIC Swimmer of the Week honors for her efforts against the Wolves. Among her wins was the top time in the 200 free in the NSIC this season (1:55.46).
