UMary women's basketball hosts CSP, MSU for Basketball Alumni Weekend Jan. 21-22

BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary women's basketball team (10-10, 4-7 Northern Sun) hosts their annual Marauders Women's Alumni Weekend. The Marauders host Concordia University, St. Paul on Friday, January 21, at 5:30 pm. UMary then welcomes Minnesota State University to the McDowell Activity Center on Saturday, January 22, at 3:30 pm. The Marauders are 12th in the NSIC and seventh in the NSIC North.

Ticket Information
Game tickets for Marauders basketball are available online at www.UMaryTickets.com and at the gate. Adult tickets are $10 while senior citizen and youth tickets (13-18 years old) are $5. UMary students and faculty with their MCard and youth 12 and younger are admitted free.

BASKETBALL ALUMNI WEEKEND SET FOR JANUARY 21-22
All former University of Mary men's and women's basketball players and coaches are invited to attend this year's annual Marauders basketball alumni weekend on January 21-22, 2022. On January 22, women's basketball alumni will be introduced during the women's game against Minnesota State. Men's basketball alumni will be recognized at the UMary-Minnesota State men's game. Last Time Out
UMary split their home games last weekend. The Marauders defeated Wayne State College 72-60 before falling 83-75 to Augustana University.

Macy Williams led the team in scoring against WSC with 15 points while also contributing five rebounds and five assists. Reese Wishart played a huge role for UMary off the bench as she would score
a career-high 14 points, shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from the field.

Megan Voit scored a career-high 24 points in The Marauders defeat to the Vikings. The Junior shot 8-of-15 from the floor while contributing five assists and three rebounds.

About The Opposition
Concordia University, St. Paul is 10-5 overall and 6-5 in the Northern Sun. CSP is sixth in the NSIC and third in the NSIC South. The Golden Bears leading scorer is freshmen forward Lindsey Becher, who averages 12.9 ppg. Sophomore forward Sydney Zgutowicz is the team's leading rebounder, averaging 8.3 rebounds per game. Junior guard Meghan DuBois is tied for first in the NSIC in assists with an average of 5.5 assists per game.

Minnesota State University has a record of 12-3 overall and 8-3 in the Northern Sun. MSU sits in third place in the NSIC and is first in the NSIC South. Sophomore guard Joey Batt leads the Mavericks in scoring and assists. Batt averages 17.2 ppg while dishing out a total of 49 assists. Leading MSU in rebounding is sophomore forward Emily Russo, who averages 5.7 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Destinee Bursch is second on the team in scoring with 11 ppg.

Stats To Watch
Lexie Schneider leads UMary in scoring, averaging 12.4 ppg. She also leads UMary in rebounding with 8.3 rpg. She's tied for second in the NSIC in rebounding, 17th in blocks (0.6 bpg) and 20th in scoring.

Macy Williams leads the Marauders in assists with 67 total and is averaging 9.5 ppg. Williams is 12th in the NSIC in assists and 10th in assist to turnover ratio.

Megan Voit is the team leader in three-pointers made with a total of 57 and is third on the team in scoring while averaging 10.8 ppg. She is shooting .375 from behind the arc. She is first in the NSIC three-pointers made per game and in three-point field goal percentage.

Megan Zander is second on the team in scoring with 11.3 ppg while averaging 5.3 rpg. She's shooting .450 from three on 27-of-60 shooting. She's 16th in the NSIC in three-pointers made per game (1.5).

Macy Williams Assists Record
Williams is third in all-time assists at UMary with 429. Williams needs ten more assists to become second all-time as she trails Renae Amundson (438).

Coaches
Head coach Rick Neumann is fourth all-time in coaching wins at UMary with 143. In his ninth season, he has a record of 143-128`. Hall of Fame coach Roger Haug is the Marauders all-time leader in wins (234), followed by Fred Fridley (170), Cal Collins (150) and Neumann (143).

UMary brought in two assistant coaches Brooke LeMar and Chloe Wanink for the 2020-21 season. LeMar was a two-time all-conference after spending her collegiate career at NCAA Division I North Dakota State University. She then went on to play professionally in several countries including Denmark, Germany, Australia and Sweden. LeMar worked as the Director of Player Development at the California Baptist University.

Wanink was a four-year all-conference performer at NCAA Division I Wofford University. She was a three-year captain at Wofford and led the Southern Conference in scoring her junior season averaging 21 points per game. She was named the 2019-20 SoCon Preseason Player of the Year and was named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard watchlist.

Returners
Notable returners to the Marauders include Macy Williams, Lexie Schneider and Megan Voit. Schneider led the NSIC in rebounding and was second on the team in scoring with 12.5 ppg.
Voit led the team in total three-pointers made with 22 while averaging 7.9 ppg.

Williams was first in the NSIC in assists with 75. Williams ranks 7th all-time for the University of Mary in assists.

Other returners include senior Carly Kottsick, juniors Reese Wishart and Mady Shafer, sophomores Zoe Velde, Lakyn Darras, Cadee Ryckman and Hallie Schweitzer.

New Faces
The Marauders add the University of North Dakota transfer Megan Zander, who averaged 8.8 ppg and 5.9 rpg last season.

UMary brings in five freshmen, who will look to make an immediate impact for the Marauders. Those five include Addison Rozell, Julia Fitterer, Ryleigh Wacha, Moriku Hakim and Ellie Hasz.
