THIS WEEK
December brings a flurry of #1 University of Mary hockey games against American Collegiate hockey Association Division 1 teams. The Marauders host the University of Jamestown – ranked 10^th in ACHA M1 - on Wednesday, Dec 1, at 7 pm. UMary then squares up against #2 Minot State University in a home-and-away weekend. On Friday, Dec. 3, the Marauders hit the road to face the Beavers in Minot, ND. The two-game set wraps up on Saturday, Dec 4, when UMary hosts Minot State at 7 pm. All Marauders home games are played on the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink.
 
M2 V M1
The Marauders, ranked #1 and the defending ACHA Men's Division 2 national champions, face the two ACHA M1 programs in the state this weekend when UMary hosts Jamestown on Wednesday before visiting Minot State on Friday, Dec. 3, and hosting the Beavers on Dec. 4. The Jimmies are ranked #10 in ACHA M1 and the Beavers are #2.
 
HISTORY
The Marauders are 6-6-1 against the Jimmies ACHA M1 program, pulling even in the series after defeating visiting Jamestown 1-0 on Nov. 6. The victory was the first UMary home win over Jamestown in a series that has featured only two home wins total… UMary is 0-6-2-2 (W-L-OTL-T) all-time against Minot State, one of the top ACHA M1 programs. Last season the Marauders earned a 1-1 tie at home before the Beavers captured game two 4-1.
 
RECORD
The Marauders are 18-2-0-2 (W-L-OTL-T) on the season.

The Marauders are in the midst of a 15-game unbeaten string, tied for the 2^nd-longest in school history… UMary has 13 wins and two ties in the run… the streak began with 11 straight wins (2^nd longest win streak)… The Marauders longest unbeaten streak is 16 games in 2020-21… UMary also had a 15-game unbeaten streak in 2018-19.
 
TEDDY BEAR TOSS
The annual Teddy Bear Toss is set for Wednesday, Dec. 8, when the Marauders host Williston State College. Fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game to donate to the Community Action Backpack for Kids Program. When the Marauders score their first goal of the game, fans will throw their stuffed animal onto the ice to be collected for distribution to local children.
 
RANKINGS
Defending American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 2 national champion University of Mary topped the first three rankings of the season. In the 3^rd ranking of the year released Nov. 24, the Marauders remained perched atop the national and West Region poll.

LEADING THE PACK
To no surprise, Marauders all-time leading scorer Alex Flicek leads UMary in points (30) and assists (19) and is second in goals (11)… Seth Cushing leads UMary in goals (12), is second in points (27) and third in assists (15)… Zach Garrett is tied with Cushing for second in points (27), is second in assists (17) and is fourth in goals (10). Garrett Freeman and Kyler Moore are tied for 4^th in points (22). Freeman has 11 goals and Moore has 10… Marshall Tschida give the Marauders six players with 20 or more points in 22 games. The defenseman has seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points.
 
BRICK WALL
The trio of Marauders netminders are each having incredible seasons. All-American Kyle Hayden is 12-2-0-2 with a 1.82 goals against average and a .931 save percentage… Conan Hayton is 4-0-0-0 with a 0.90 GAA and a .961 save percentage… Quinn Ackerman owns a record of 2-0-0-0 with a 0.71 GAA and a .965 save percentage.

Zach Garrett joined Alex Flicek this season as the only two Marauders who have produced 200 points in their UMary careers.
 
IRON MEN
In the fourth season as a program since first taking to the ice in Sept. 2018, the Marauders have played 168 games. Defensive partners Marshall Tschida and Drew Lenertz have played in every game.
 
ALL IN
All 20 skaters who have played a dozen or more games have scored a goal this season and all have multiple points.
 
TIMING
Ten Marauders have game-winning goals this season with Zach Garrett, Seth Cushing and Garrett Freeman posting three each. Connor Hanson has had impressive timing on his goals as two of his three counters are game-winners… Kyler Moore has two game winning goals to give the Marauders five skaters with multiple game-winning goals.
 
ACHA M2 CHAMPIONS
The Marauders are the defending 2021 American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 2 national champions.
 
HONORS
Head coach Dan Huntley is the two-time ACHA M2 Coach of the Year… Zach Garrett is the 2021 ACHA M2 Player of the Year… Garrett, Johnny Witzke and Kyle Hayden were named to the 2021 All-American Team… UMary was named the 2021 NDAPSSA non-school Team of the Year.
