Huntsberry shines as the Marauders fall 86-70 to the Warriors

MOORHEAD, MN – Kai Huntsberry dropped 22 points as the University of Mary men's basketball team fell to Winona State University 86-70.

The Marauders struggled in the first half, with UMary shooting 36% from the field. The Warriors would shoot 55.88% from the field as WSU would take a 44-26 lead into halftime.

UMary shot better in the first half and tried to rally back for the third straight game. WSU's offense would remain strong in the second half and did not allow the Marauders an opportunity to get back into the game, winning 86-70. UMary shot 58.33% from the field in the second half, while WSU shot 56.67%.

Kai Huntsberry led the Marauders in scoring as the junior scored 22 points on an incredible 6-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. Logan Nagorski contributed 10 points coming off the bench, shooting a perfect 3-of-3 for the game.

The Marauders fell short in the rebounding battle as they grabbed 28 boards while the Warriors had 30 rebounds. UMary struggled with turnovers, with the Marauders turning it over 13 times compared to WSU, who had 7.

The Marauders shot 46.9% from the field, shooting 45.8% from three while going 13-of-26 from the free-throw line. The Warriors shot 56.3% from the field, shooting 40% from behind the arc while going 4-of-6 from the charity stripe.
