Heading out for their third road trip of the season, the University of Mary hockey team journeys west for the first time this season for a pair of games in Montana. The Marauders put their three-game win streak on the line when UMary first visits the University of Providence in Great Falls, MT, on Friday, Oct. 29. Game time is 8 pm Central/7 pm Mountain. The 2-game swing continues at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, on Saturday, Oct. 30, with the puck dropping at 8:30 pm Central/7:30 pm Mountain.

LAST WEEK
UMary routed the University of Jamestown in a home-and-home American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's D2 series. The Marauders won the opener on the road 5-1 before shelling the Jimmies 10-1 at home on Saturday… five different Marauders scored in game one and nine different UMary skaters scored in game 2… The Marauders also held a 131-36 edge in shots over the two games. Â

The Marauders are 8-2 this season, including a 3-game win streak… Providence is 2-2… Montana State is 6-2-1-0.

The Marauders specialty units are one again having another monster season. UMary has allowed opponents to score just twice on power plays in 24 opportunities (8.3%). Meanwhile the Marauders are scoring at a 31.2% clip (13-of-41 with a man advantage). UMary is averaging 1.20 power play goals/game while the opposition is averaging 0.20.

The defending ACHA M2 National Champion Marauders are completing overpowering opponents. In ten games, UMary has outscored the opposition 47-24 an holds a 426-223 advantage in total shots.

20 different Marauders have scored a goal this season… in a 5-1 win at Jamestown five different players scored goals for UMary… In the 10-1 series finale UMary scored the first nine goals of the game and it was nine different skaters that scored. After UJ broke onto the scoreboard,

Zach Garrett is off to another hot start. He leads the team in points (13) and is tied for the team lead in goals (5) and assists (8).

ACHA M2 Tournament Most Valuable Player
Kyle Hayden started the first nine games of the season between the pipes for the Marauders and is having another tremendous season. The all-time school leader in wins (45) and shutouts (10), he is 7-2 this year with a 2.20 goals against average and a 91.6 save percentage.
