UMary Closes Out Spring Games With Two Big Wins

CLERMONT, FL – The University of Mary softball team closed out the spring games in exciting fashion. The Marauders claimed a 3-2 win over Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a walk-off homerun by Emma Noble. They followed that up by rolling past Urbana University 12-6. The Marauders recorded a season high of 17 hits in the dominant win over the Blue Knights.
 
With today's wins the Marauders improve to 12-9 on the season.
 
GAME 1 University of Mary 3 Indiana (PA) 2
A walk-off homerun by Emma Noble earned the Marauders a 3-2 win against Indiana University of Pennsylvania. With the game locked up at two in the bottom of the seventh inning, Emma Noble came to the plate to win the game for the Marauders. UMary's other two runs came in the fourth inning off of a Isabella Saint Hilaire double and a Rebekkah Keller single. Kaitlyn Alvarado picked up the win from the circle for the Marauders.
 
PIVOT POINT
With the game locked up at two, Emma Noble came to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning. She wasted no time winning the game for UMary, sending the ball out of the park to win in walk-off fashion.

Emma Noble has been nothing short of spectacular in the sunshine state. She has a total of nine homeruns this season with all nine coming at the spring games in Florida.
 
GAME 3 UMary 12 Urbana University 6
A strong first three innings put the Marauders up 6-0 and then a five run seventh inning capped the Marauders efforts in a 12-6 win over Urbana. The Marauders recorded a season high of 17 hits on the game with Rebekkah Keller leading the way with four. Kaitlyn Alvarado and Madelynn Trout each added three of their own with two of Trout's being doubles. Another five Marauders recorded at least one hit on the game. Madison Jahner earned the win for the circle.
  
PIVOT POINT
The Marauders hot start proved to be the difference in the game. UMary was able to put six runs up on the board before the Blue Knights could put up any. An Emma Noble homerun in the first inning helped the Marauders go up 3-0 and they never looked back.  
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
Rebekkah Keller went 4-4 with three runs scored and three stolen bases

STAT OF THE GAME
The Marauders recorded an astounding 17 hits on the game. That is four more hits than their previous season high. Rebekkah Keller's four hits led the way. Keller now has 28 hits on the season to lead to team which is eight more than anyone else. She is currently riding an 11-game hitting streak.
 
UP NEXT
The Marauders begin NSIC play on March 24 when they travel to Minot State to take on the Beavers. The double header is slotted for 2 PM and 4 PM.
