Marauders Wrestling Ready To Roll At NCAA Super Regionals

SIOUX FALLS, SD – Catching their groove at just the right time, the University of Mary wrestling team in primed to compete at the NCAA Super Region V tournament. The Super Regionals will take place on Saturday, February 29 in Sioux Falls. UMary, who finished the season 6-7 overall and 4-4 in NSIC duals ended the season on a four dual winning streak.
 
The top three finishers in each weight class will advance to the NCAA Championships on March 13-14 in Sioux Falls, SD.
 
The Marauders are led by two nationally ranked wrestlers. Phillip Springsteen sits at eighth in the nation at 174 with Braydon Huber recently making the jump to 10th at 157.
 
Braydon Huber is chasing down Marauders history, sitting just one takedown shy of UMary's single season takedowns record. Huber's dominance this season earned him second team All-NSIC honors.
 
Dominic Tudor and Phillip Springsteen are both in the top five for UMary in All-Time wins. Tudor is in fourth with 55 and Springsteen is in fifth with 54.
 
Last season the Marauders advanced three wrestlers from NCAA Regionals to the NCAA Championships. Gerardo Jaime and Phillip Springsteen are the Marauders two returning national qualifiers with Springsteen earning All-American status last year.
