SCHEDULE UPDATE
The University of Mary hockey team is changing both game sites and opponents on Saturday, November 7. Originally scheduled to host Dakota College of Bottineau, the contest is postponed as the Lumberjacks are unable to play. Instead, the Marauders will head east and face the University of Jamestown's American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 team. Game time is 7 pm in Jamestown, ND. No tickets are available for the contest.

In addition, UMary's game scheduled at Dakota College on Friday, Nov. 13, is also postponed.

THE WEEK AHEAD
Following a scheduling change, the University of Mary now faces the University of Jamestown's ACHA Division 1 program on the road this Saturday, November 7, in the first of three straight games against the Jimmies. Game time is 7 pm in Jamestown, ND. The series shifts back to Mandan, ND, when the ACHA Division 2 Marauders hosts the Jimmies Division 1 team on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 7 pm at the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink. The three-game run between the Marauders and the Jimmies wraps up in Jamestown on Sunday, November 15. Â

RECORDS
The Marauders are 10-0-0-2 after another unbeaten weekend and three straight home wins in the span of four days… The Jimmies are 2-2-3 this season… UMary and UJ skated to a 4-4 tie in Mandan earlier this season… The Marauders are 4-4-1 all-time against the Jimmies D1 program… neither team has won a home game against the other – all four wins by both teams have come on the road.

HOMECOMING
After playing six straight games on the road, the Marauders returned home last week to win three straight games. After a 10-1 rout over Williston State College in a midweek matchup featuring a hat trick from freshman
Jaren Hugelen and five points from
Johnny Witzke, the Marauders proceeded to sweep Iowa State University 2-0 and 5-0.
Kyle Hayden was perfect in net in the opener, making 44 saves in the game, and
Zach Garrett and
Drew Lenertz scored both UMary goals in the third period.
Conan Hayton posted 30 saves and
Seth Cushing posted a pair of goals to complete the weekend sweep.

SOLVING THE CYCLONES
In four games against the Cyclones this season, the Marauders have posted three shutouts and allowed just one goal while sweeping the season series.

PULLING THE PLUG
The Marauders penalty kill unit has overwhelmed the opposition the last five games. UMary has skated off 22 straight short-handed situations on the way to five straight wins. In those five games, the Marauders have allowed just four goals and posted two shutouts. For the year the Marauders have allowed the opposition to score just 11.9% (5-for-42) on the power play… Conversely the Marauders have scored on 34.1% (15-of-44) of their power play opportunities.

RANKED
The University of Mary are scheduled to play 20 games against teams ranked nationally in the final ACHA D2 and D1 polls from last season. The Marauders were ranked second in the final 2019-20 poll and spent several weeks atop the ratings. UMary's ranked foes are: #3 Liberty (three games), #7 Florida Gulf Coast (two games), #13 Cincinnati (two games), #12 Providence (four games), and #17 Montana State (two games). The Marauders ranked ACHA Division I foes are #5 Minot State (four games) and #12 University of Jamestown (three games)… Florida Gulf Coast and Minot State are also the defending national champions of their respective divisions.

NORTH DAKOTA OR BUST
After playing six straight games out of state in October, the Marauders aren't scheduled to leave North Dakota again until 2021 when UMary visits Great Falls, MT, for a pair of games against the University of Providence on January 15-16.

ROLLING
The Marauders are undefeated through their first 12 games of the season, winning ten and earning two ties. The hot start for UMary is not unusual. The Marauders opened their first season in 2018-19 with 15 straight wins. Last year they rolled off 14 consecutive wins to start the season.

SUCCESS
In just three short seasons as a program, Marauders head coach Dan Huntley has led the UMary to a record of 88-14-3-4 overall. The Marauders finished 39-5-1-2 in their inaugural season of 2018-19 and 39-9-2-0 in 2019-20. UMary is 10-0-0-2 in 2020-21.

GOAL SAVANT
In his second season with the Marauders,
Seth Cushing continues to pile up the goals. Through 12 games he has a team-best 13 goals. Cushing also has five assists and 18 points. Three times he has posted the game-winning goal. In 61 career games Cushing has lit the lamp 50 times and has delivered 25 assists. Cushing is the fastest UMary player to reach 50 goals, ahead of
Alex Flicek (68 games) and Andy Huber (89).

FLICEK FLYING
All-American
Alex Flicek is off to an outstanding start. Through 12 games he leads the team in points (19) and assists (10) and is second in goals (9). The Bismarck, ND, native earned 2019-20 ACHA D2 All-American honors after tallying 34 goals and posting 33 assists for a team-high 67 points. He scored nine game-winning goals, added two on power plays and one shorthanded. In 107 career games, Flicek has 79 goals, 63 assists and 142 points with 18 game-winning goals.

RUSH TIME
Marshall Tschida is incredibly adept at both stopping the opponent's offensive rush and leading the Marauders charge towards the opposing goal. The defenseman owns 13 assists this season – including six on power play goals – and three goals. For his career the third-year player has generated 109 points (29 goals and 80 assists) in 109 games. His play on both ends the rink has led UMary to outscore the opposition 511-187 in three seasons, including a 55-19 mark this year.

I WANT MOORE
Third-year player
Kyler Moore is on the cusp of reaching triple digits for career points. The native of Firestone, CO, owns 99 career points. This season he has produced five goals and eight assists for 13 points. Moore has three power play goals and owns two game-winners.

Team captain
Zach Garrett entered the 2020-21 season second all-time in points at UMary with 113. Able to both find the net and teammates, Garrett had 23 goals and 36 assists for 59 points last season after contributing 54 points (19 goals and 35 assists) in 2018-19. This year he owns six goals and eight  assists for 14 points. He is sitting at 48 career goals and owns 127 points. Â

POWER PLAYER
Drew Lenertz directs a potent power play for the Marauders. The third-year defenseman has 71 career points in 109 games. Six of his goals have come on the power play, along with a program-record 29 assists. He has two goals (on a power play) and eight assists (two on a power play) this season.Â

BRICK WALL
The Marauders net-minding duo of
Kyle Hayden and
Conan Hayton have been spectacular and own incredibly similar numbers. In his second season at UMary, Hayden is 5-0-0-1 with a 1.57 goals against average, a 94.9 save percentage and two shutouts. Hayton, in his first season at UMary, is also 5-0-0-1 with a 1.64 GAA, a 94.3 save percentage and one shutout.
