CROSBY, ND – Following their season-long blueprint for success that includes explosive middle periods and multiple goal scorers, the University of Mary hockey team blew past Williston State College 7-2 in the first of a home-and-home series between the Marauders and the Tetons. UMary exploded for four goals in the second period to overcome an early deficit and seven different players accounted for the Marauders goals.
Ranked first in the ACHA Division II West region rating, UMary improves to 35-4-2-1 on the season. The Tetons are ranked 5
th in the region.
The Marauders special teams dominated the game, producing four power play goals in seven chances while holding the Tetons without a goal in their three opportunities with a man advantage.

Phillip Silveria, the Marauders trailed 2-1 after the opening period as Andy Huber's goal was sandwiched by a pair of Tetons tallies.
The Marauders dominated the second stanza.
Kyler Moore pulled the Marauders even at 6:32 on a goal assisted by
Drew Lenertz and Silveria, his first of two assists. UMary then used a flurry of goals to take the lead, scoring three times in less than three minutes. Jonathon Sundell opened the floodgates with a power play goal at 11:20. Just 71 seconds later
Jakob Parisien potted another goal with a man advantage. Then
Alex Flicek drove home an even strength goal at 14:14 to move the Marauders in front 5-2.
UMary tacked on a pair of power play goals in the third period as Zach Garrett and
Marshall Tschida took advantage of WSC penalties to both score in the final three minutes of the game.
Tschida, Parisien and Flicek all had three point nights, scoring a goal apiece and adding two assists. Parisien had two assists and Huber and Garrett both logged a goal and an assist.
Knudson picked up the win in front of his home crowd, stopping 23 of the 25 shots he faced on the night.
The Marauders doubled up the Tetons in shots, holding a 52-25 edge. UMary committed just three penalties totaling six minutes while Williston State severely damaged itself with eight penalties for 24 minutes.
UMary hosts Williston State on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7 pm inside the Schwann Cadillac Arena at Starion Sports Complex.
