BISMARCK, ND – Following her second season as head coach of the University of Mary volleyball program, Korie Tetzlaff has gained four commitments at the beginning of the 2019 NCAA national signing period. Emily Torborg, Laura Petik, Kaia Lill, and Olivia Dickerson have all chosen to continue their education at the University of Mary and compete with the Marauders beginning in fall of 2020.

"This year's 2020 signing class is going to be a fun one to watch throughout their time at the University of Mary," said head coach Korie Tetzlaff. "We are pleased to welcome Emily Torborg, Laura Petik, Kaia Lill and Olivia Dickerson, a combination of local and regional student-athletes into our Marauder family, and we cannot wait to see how they will help build our virtuous culture and help us reach greater heights both on and off the volleyball court. These four are not only great athletes, they also have incredibly high character and academic accomplishments and will challenge our level from the moment they step on campus."

Emily Torborg (5-11 | MH | Lakeville, MN | Lakeville South High School | MN Select)
An All-region team and Under Armour All-American watch list honoree, Emily Torborg will join the Marauders as a middle hitter this upcoming season. Torborg will look to make an impact for the Marauders from the middle hitter position. She plans to study education at UMary.

"Emily will be joining us as a middle hitter with the ability to make an impact early on," said head coach Korie Tetzlaff. "She has continued to improve each year and has earned her way to contributing roles on both her club and high school teams. She is an athletic, quick and smart player who sees the court well, and will work to find ways to score. She has been honored with All-region team and Under Armour All-American watch list honors, while competing at a high level. We are extremely excited to add Emily's experience and knowledge to our team."

Laura Petik (5-7 | DS/L | Rapid City, SD | Rapid City Stevens High School | Black Hills Juniors
A two-time state finalist and a 2018 state champion, Laura Petik will join the Marauders as a libero/defensive specialist. Petik has 1,553 digs, 115 aces, and 72 assists during her high school career. The Rapid City native was the most valuable defensive player her sophomore through senior season and was named a SD Future 50 in 2018. She plans to study communication sciences and disorders at the University of Mary.

"We are thrilled to welcome Laura as a defensive player into our program," said Tetzlaff. "She is a very focused and determined individual, who knows what it takes to win. Her Rapid City Stevens high school team won the AA South Dakota State Championship in 2018 with her playing Libero, and she was part of the SD Future 50 in 2018 as well. Laura will be a great fit for us and we are excited to see what Laura can do in orange and blue."

Kaia Lill (5-8 | S | Bismarck, ND | Century High School | Capitol Volleyball Club
A two-time North Dakota state champion, Kaia Lill will bring plenty of winning experience to the Marauders. Lill will be one of four setters on the Marauders roster next season, creating a high level of competition for playing time.

"We are excited to add Kaia to our volleyball program and family," stated Tetzlaff. "She has been a part of two ND State Championship teams, was a member of the President's Day Smackfest All-Tournament team, as well as a three-year member and co-President of National Honor Society. Kaia's communication, leadership and experience in a winning culture will make us better on a daily basis."

Olivia Dickerson (5-11 | M/RS/OH | Bismarck, ND | Bismarck High School | Capitol Volleyball Club
An all-around athlete, Olivia Dickerson will join the Marauders as a middle, right side, or outside hitter this upcoming season. Dickerson, a three sport athlete in high school, plans to study pre dental here at the University of Mary. The Dickerson family is no stranger to UMary, with both of Olivia's parents graduating from the University.

"Olivia will be joining the Marauder family with experience in all front row positions on the court," said Tetzlaff. "She is the type of player that will continue to work and develop throughout her career, and it will be fun to see which position will be the best fit for her athleticism. With her competitiveness and strong self-motivation, Olivia will be a great addition to carry on our team values, the University of Mary's virtues as well as help push us to continue to achieve academic success."
