BISMARCK, ND – What better way to celebrate Halloween than by watching the University of Mary volleyball team battle in-state rivals Minot State in your favorite Halloween costume. The Marauders will host the Beavers on Thursday, October 31 at 6 PM for a Halloween themed game. After the battle between UMary and Minot State, the Marauders will travel to Aberdeen, SD to take on #7 ranked Northern State University on Saturday, November 2 at 6 PM.

The Marauders come into the weekend with a 1-19 record, going 0-11 in NSIC play.

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took the court was for a pair of games against nationally ranked foes. UMary opened up weekend play against #17 Winona State. The Warriors were able to sweep the Marauders in three sets. UMary then took on #21 Upper Iowa, falling in three sets to the Peacocks.
Natalia Cruz led the way for UMary recording 14 digs in each of the matchups, to help improve her digs/set average. The UMary libero averaged 4.67 digs/set on the weekend
OPPO RESEARCH – MINOT STATE
Minot State comes into the match against the Marauders with a 1-21 record, going 0-13 in NSIC so far. The Beavers lone win came in a nonconference matchup against the Marauders earlier this season. Shelby Spuller leads the Beavers, averaging 3.32 kills/set, ranking her 12
th in the NSIC. Mackenzie Froehlich ranks 14
th in the NSIC in assists (7.77 assists/set) and Karli Koza ranks ninth in the NSIC in digs (4.29/set).
LAST MEETING
The Marauders and Beavers last met earlier this season. The Beavers were able to sweep the Marauders in three straight sets. Minot State hit at an impressive .259 clip in the previous matchup. UMary was led by
Julianna Hughes who had seven kills and
Natalia Cruz who had 15 digs.
OPPO RESEARCH – NORTHERN STATE
National powerhouse, Northern State is ranked #7 in the country while boasting a 18-3 record, going 11-2 in conference play. CSP and SMSU are the only two NSIC schools that have been able to best the Wolves this season with NSU dominating the remainder of the schedule including wins over nationally ranked WSC, USF, UMD, SCSU, WSU, and UIU. Hitting is the Wolves best asset, leading the conference in both hitting percentage (.297) and kills/set (15.22). NSU ranks third in the nation is kills/set and ranks second in the country in hitting percentage. Peyton Ellingson averages 1.25 blocks/set, leading the NSIC and ranks fourth in the NSIC with a .373 hitting percentage. Ashley Rozell ranks second in the NSIC in assists (12.11/set) and Laura Snyder in fourth in the NSIC in kills/set (4.50).
LAST MEETING
The last time the Marauders and Wolves met up was during the first NSIC match of the 2018 season. NSU swept the Marauders hitting at an astounding .556 clip. UMary would hold the advantage in aces on the match 4-3.

th career assist against Minnesota Duluth. Reaching the major milestone just 14 games into her junior season.

th career kill against Bemidji State, just 17 games into her junior season.

Two Marauders are nearing big time career milestone.
Natalia Cruz has 716 career digs, surpassing the 700 digs mark and setting her sights on 1,000.
Katja Berge has 330 career kills, surpassing the 300 kills mark with her sights set on 500.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE
Double-doubles have been the name of the game for the Marauders early on in the season. Setter
Sydney Murphy has been a machine, recording 11 double-doubles so far this season in assists and digs. .
Morgan Schnabel has five double-doubles of her own with digs and kills.
Anna Nietfeld adds four double-doubles of her own. Freshman
Nehkyah Ellis has two double-doubles.

Morgan Schnabel leads the Marauders in kills with a total of 220, averaging 2.82 kills per set. Schnabel ranks 19
th in the NSIC in kills/set and 15
