MARSHALL, MN – The University of Mary swimming and diving team will be back in action this weekend for a pair of duals. The Marauders will first take on Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, October 18 at 5 PM in Marshall, MN. They follow that up with a dual against Augustana on Saturday, October 19 at 10 AM in Sioux Falls, SD.
The Marauders will be back in action for the first time since opening the season with a quad dual at home. The Marauders meet against MSU Moorhead was postponed last week due to weather.
UMary comes into this duals against SMSU and Augie with a 1-2 record after opening the season at home with the UMary quad dual. The Marauders claimed victory over Northern State and fell to Sioux Falls and Augustana.
The Marauders earned 15 top three finishes in the season opening Quad Dual.
Mariah Stewart claimed both diving events while
Victoria Murillo recorded an event win in the 200 free and claimed two second place finishes as well.
First year program, Southwest Minnesota State comes into the dual with a 1-1 record. This will be the first meet the Mustangs host against an NSIC foe. SMSU lost to Minnesota State on the road 192-74 before claiming victory over Iowa Lakes Community College in their first ever home dual.
Augustana comes into the dual against the Marauders with a 2-1 record. The Vikings earned the record at the UMary Season Opening Quad dual where they took down UMary and Northern State. The lone loss for Augie comes against Sioux Falls.
