MANDAN, ND - Forced into overtime for the first time this season,
Marshall Tschida kept the University of Mary perfect through 14 games. The Marauders All-Region defenseman wristed a rocket into the net just 19 seconds into the extra session to give UMary a 4-3 win over visiting Montana State University.

The Bobcats struck early, scoring on a Jack Coon goal only 25 seconds into the game. Dalton Jonson evened the score at 8:22 with a power play goal.

Firing on all cylinders in just their second game of the season, Montana State scored two more times in the opening period to claim a 3-1 lead entering the first intermission.

UMary rebounded with two goals in the second period.
Mathew Janke scored at 3:05 before
Zach Garrett knotted the score 3-3 in a shorthanded goal.

Neither team scored in the third to force the overtime session.

The extra session was over in the blink of an eye. After forcing a faceoff to the left of the Bobcats goal,
Kyler Moore won the faceoff for the Marauders. Tschida scooped up the puck, found open space and wristed a shot top shelf to end the game 19 seconds into overtime.

Johnson finished the game with three points on a goal and two assists.
Matt Winkle added two assists.

In a relief effort,
Lance Knudson posted 13 saves after entering the game to start the second period.

The Marauders improve to 14-0 on the season. The Bobcats, who advanced to the ACHA Division II national tournament last year, is 0-2.

UMary next takes on defending ACHA Division II national champion Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, FL, on Oct. 18-19. The Marauders defeated the Eagles 3-1 earlier this season at the UMary Icebreaker tournament.
