NEXT CONTESTANT
The University of Mary Hockey team will participate in a home and home with Williston State College this weekend. The first game will take place in Crosby, ND on Friday, February 1 at 7 PM. UMary will then return home to take on the Tetons again at 7 PM on Saturday, February 2 at the Schwan Cadillac Arena in the Starion Sports Complex.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took the ice was for a home double header against Minnesota State-Mankato. The Marauders dominated the Mavericks winning both games. UMary won the first game by a score of 4-0 with Lance Knudson earning the shutout. Four different Marauders scored on the game.  The Marauders took the second game by a score of 6-3 with Aaron Nelson earning the win. Six different Marauders found the back of the net in this game.
 
RECORD
The Marauders boast a 34-4-1-1 record in the program's inaugural season. UMary is 33-1-1 against fellow DII opponents.
 
 
HOME ICE ADVANTAGE
The Marauders boast an impressive 16-2-1 record at the Schwan Cadillac Arena in the Starion Sports Complex. UMary has outscored their opponents 89-31 on their home ice. The Marauders are undefeated at home against DII opponents.
 
NUMBER ONE!!!
The University of Mary hockey team is ranked #1 in the west division! The Marauders have ranked #1 in all eight polls to come out so far this season.
  
30 WIN MARK
The Marauders have hit the 30 win mark on their inaugural season. Only two ACHA DII teams reached this mark during the entirety of the 2017-18 season putting the Marauders in elite territory. UMary is now at 34 wins which is more than any team in ACHA DII had last season. The Marauders have 6 more games to add onto that impressive total.

The Marauders have recorded an outstanding 176 goals in their first 41 games of the season. UMary is averaging over four goals per game.
 
THREE TIMES MORE
UMary has scored nearly three times more goals than opponents have this season. The Marauders have outscored their opponents by a score of 176-68 throughout the first 41 games of the season. The Marauders look to continue to dominate in their inaugural season and keep the winning trend going.
 
UNHEARD OF x2
The Marauders have posted plenty of impressive stats this season but possibly none more impressive then what occurred during their second game against UND. The Marauders won the game 9-0 and had NINE different players score a goal. If it wasn't impressive enough to do it once, they did it yet again against the University of Colorado. In their 9-0 win against the Buffalo, NINE different Marauders scored. Now that's called teamwork!
 
NOT IN OUR HOUSE
The Marauders have the luxury of having not one but two dominant forces in the net. The two goalies the Marauders rank towards the top of the nation in every single statistical category. Aaron Nelson 18-4 on the season and boasts a .943 save percentage which is the sixth best in the nation. The former NCAA Division I goalie at Minnesota State University has only allowed 40 goals to sneak past him thus far in the season while stopping the other 664 attempts, ranking him first in the nation in saves, recording 80 more saves than second place. Nelson has five shutouts on the season which ranks him second in the ACHA. Lance Knudson is an undefeated 16-0 on the season. He has only allowed in 28 goals so far this season. He has stopped the other 409 attempts for a save percentage of .936. His 385 saves rank him eleventh in the country. Knudson has four shutouts on the season, ranking him fourth in the nation. The 18 wins by Nelson leads the nation, right behind him in second is Knudson with 16 wins.
 
GOAL….GOAL…GOAL
The goal horn has become a familiar sound when the Marauders are on the ice this season. The team is averaging over four goals per game. The Marauders have had all 18 players score so far this season. Alex Flicek has averaged nearly a goal per game this season recording a Marauders season high with 32 goals. Flicek ranks 3rd in the nation in goals scored. Andrew Huber is right behind him with 28 goals tying him for 7th in the nation.  Zach Garrett (17), Kyler Moore (14), Josh Colleaux (12), Ben Kottmeier (11), Jakob Parisien (10) and Marshall Tschida (10) each have double digit goals on the season. Phillip Silveria is nearing double digit goals on the season with nine. 
 
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
Teamwork is the name of the game for the Marauders. All 18 Marauders have recorded at least one assist on the season. Marshall Tschida leads all Marauders with 38 assists on the season. This total puts him fifth in the nation. Zachery Garrett is second on the team in assists posting 34, ranking him for 9th in the nation. Jakob Parisien (25), Drew Lenertz (23), Benjamin Kottmeier (23), Phillip Silveria (13), Josh Colleaux (13), Alex Flicek (15), Andrew Heckaman (11), Andy Huber (10), and Alex Horner (10) are all in double digits for assists on the season as well.
 
TO BE THE BEST YOU'VE GOT TO BEAT THE BEST
UMary has arguably one of the toughest schedules in the nation, playing ranked teams seemingly every single weekend. The Marauders are undefeated against teams ranked in the West region poll, remaining perfect in 21 games against #2 Northern Colorado (3-0), #4 Boise State (2-0), #3 Northern Arizona (2-0), #7 Dakota College (2-0), #10 Montana State University (4-0), #6 Williston State College (2-0), #13 Utah State University (1-0), #9 Cal State Northridge (1-0), #18 Brigham Young University (1-0), #15 Weber State University (1-0), and #20 University of Denver (2-0). The Marauders are 1-1 against #1 in the southeast Florida Gulf Coast. Additionally UMary is 6-0 against #15 North Dakota State, #10 St. Thomas, and #17 Minnesota State-Mankato. The Marauders have one victory against ACHA DI opponent Jamestown. Jamestown is ranked #17 in DI

Got fans? The Marauders sure do! The Marauders have received an incredible amount of support from the community, so much so that they completely packed the house, where even standing room was hard to come by in their first home game of the season. The Marauders look to continue to use the energy from the crowd to make their home ice one of the most difficult places to play in the country.
