GRAND FORKS, ND – Exploding for nine goals by nine different skaters, the University of Mary hockey team remains undefeated after a weekend sweep at the University of North Dakota ACHA club hockey team. Gaining momentum as the game continued, the Marauders scored twice in the first, three times in the second and four times in the third on the way to a 9-0 win.
 
UMary held a 55-20 edge in shots on goal. After firing 11 shots on the UND netminder in the opening period, the numbers jumped to 23 and 21 over the next two periods.
 
Defensively, the Marauders held UND to seven shots in each of the first two periods and six in the final stanza. Despite most of the action taking place on the other end of the rink, UMary goalkeeper Lance Knudson maintained his concentration to post the shutout – his first for the Marauders – after making 20 saves in the game.
 
One of several offensive stalwarts in the game for the Marauders, Marshall Tschida produced one goal and a game-high three assists. Andrew Huber and Ben Kottmeier both had a goal and two assists. Bryce Eckman and Logan Kraft had a goal and an assist each. Also helping out on multiple goals was Jakob Parisien and Peter Pavek with a pair of assists apiece.
 
Kraft and Colleaux produced first-period goals for UMary. Alex Flicek, Zachery Garrett and Huber each tallied in the second. Providing third period goals were Bryce Eckman, Tschida, Kottmeier and Alexander Horner.
 
Undefeated through four games in their inaugural season, the Marauders return home to host the Everspring Inn and Suites 2018 Icebreaker on Sept. 27-Oct 1. Joining UMary is the University of Denver, Boise State University, Northern Arizona, the University of Northern Colorado and Williston State College. All games will be played at the Schwan Cadillac Arena at Starion Sports Complex.
