LAST TIME OUT

The last time the Marauders took the ice was at the Beehive Showcase in Utah. The Marauders would take on four ranked teams over the period of four days. UMary opened play against #13 BYU, downing them by a score of 4-2. They then beat #7 Cal State Northridge by a score of 2-1. #4 Northern Arizona was no match for UMary with the Marauders winning by a score of 5-1. The final game of the showcase ended in a 3-3 tie against #8 Grand Canyon University.

RECORD

The Marauders boast a 24-1-1 record in the program's inaugural season.

START OF A RIVALRY

Any Marauders fan knows that whenever UMary and Minot State get together it is bound to be a great game between the two rivals. For the first time in program history the Marauders and Beavers will be battling on the ice!

OPPO RESEARCH – MINOT STATE

Minot State competes in the ACHA division I. The Beavers rank 14th in the nation in DI. Minot State comes into the game against UMary with a 9-4-2 record. Johl Sweldo leads their team with six goals on the season.

WHITE OUT

Time to search your closets for all of the white clothes you own. The Marauders game theme will be white out so come decked out in your white clothes to support your Marauders.

HOME ICE ADVANTAGE

The Marauders boast an impressive 12-0 record at the Schwan Cadillac Arena in the Starion Sports Complex. UMary has outscored their opponents 65-16 on their home ice.

NUMBER ONE!!!

The University of Mary hockey team is ranked #1 in the west division!

20 WIN MARK

The Marauders have hit the 20 win mark on their inaugural season. Only 18 ACHA DII teams reached this mark during the entirety of the 2017-18 season putting the Marauders in elite territory. The Marauders have 21 more games to add onto that impressive total, currently sitting at 24 wins..

100!

The Marauders have recorded an outstanding 122 goals in their first 26 games of the season. UMary is averaging over 4.5 goals per game.

THREE TIMES MORE

UMary has scored over three times more goals than opponents have this season. The Marauders have outscored their opponents by a score of 122-34 throughout the first 26 games of the season. The Marauders look to continue to dominate in their inaugural season and keep the winning trend going.

UNHEARD OF x2

The Marauders have posted plenty of impressive stats this season but possibly none more impressive then what occurred during their second game against UND. The Marauders won the game 9-0 and had NINE different players score a goal. If it wasn't impressive enough to do it once, they did it yet again against the University of Colorado. In their 9-0 win against the Buffalo, NINE different Marauders scored. Now that's called teamwork!

NOT IN OUR HOUSE

The Marauders have the luxury of having not one but two dominant forces in the net. The two goalies the Marauders rank towards the top of the nation in every single statistical category. Aaron Nelson 12-1 on the season and boasts a .957 save percentage which is the fourth best in the nation. The former NCAA Division I goalie at Minnesota State University has only allowed 16 goals to sneak past him thus far in the season while stopping the other 356 attempts, ranking him fourth in the nation in saves. Nelson has four shutouts on the season which ranks him second in the ACHA. Lance Knudson is an undefeated 12-1 on the season. He has only allowed in 17 goals so far this season. He has stopped the other 291 attempts for a save percentage of .945. Knudson has three shutouts on the season, ranking him fourth in the nation.

GOAL….GOAL…GOAL

The goal horn has become a familiar sound when the Marauders are on the ice this season. The team is averaging over five goals per game. The Marauders have had 17 players score so far this season. Alex Flicek has averaged nearly a goal per game this season recording a Marauders season high with 23 goals. Flicek ranks 4th in the nation in goals scored. Andrew Huber is right behind him with 20 goals tying him for 8th in the nation. Kyler Moore (12) and Zach Garrett (10) each have double digit goals on the season. Josh Colleaux is nearing the mark with nine goals.

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

Teamwork is the name of the game for the Marauders. All 18 Marauders have recorded at least one assist on the season. Marshall Tschida leads all Marauders with 26 assists on the season. This total is tied for sixth in the nation. Zachery Garrett is second on the team in assists posting 23, tying him for 12th in the nation. Jakob Parisien (20). Drew Lenertz (18) Benjamin Kottmeier (16), Phillip Silveria (11), and Alex Flicek (10) are all in double digits for assists on the season as well.

TO BE THE BEST YOU'VE GOT TO BEAT THE BEST

UMary has arguably one of the toughest schedules in the nation, playing ranked teams seemingly every single weekend. The Marauders are undefeated against teams ranked in the West region poll, remaining perfect in 16 games against #2 Northern Colorado (1-0), #3 Boise State (2-0), #4 Northern Arizona (2-0), #5 Dakota College (2-0), #10 Montana State University (2-0), #12 Williston State College (2-0), #14 Utah State University (1-0), #17 Cal State Northridge (1-0), #13 Brigham Young University (1-0), #15 Weber State University (1-0) and #18 University of Denver (1-0). Additionally UMary is 2-0 against North Dakota State, ranked 15th in the Central region. The Marauders tied #8 Grand Canyon University. The only blemish on the Marauders season record occurred during a weekend split at defending national champion Florida Gulf Coast University, ranked 1st in the Southeast region.

GOT FANS?

Got fans? The Marauders sure do! The Marauders have received an incredible amount of support from the community, so much so that they completely packed the house, where even standing room was hard to come by in their first home game of the season. The Marauders look to continue to use the energy from the crowd to make their home ice one of the most difficult places to play in the country.
