ABERDEEN, SD – The University of Mary swimming and diving team took the road to Aberdeen, South Dakota to take on Northern State. The Marauders would post many impressive results in the pool taking home several event wins. UMary took down the wolves by a score of 123-100.
The Marauders picked up their second meet victory of the season, both coming against Northern State.
The 200 medley team of
Alyssa Boese,
Anna Jackson,
Abbey Zajdzinski, and
Kate Murphy kicked the day off for the Marauders with an event win with a time of 1:54.35 to take the event by nearly three seconds.
Andrea Lee followed that up with another event win posting a time of 18:13.27 to win the event by an astounding 1:13. She took second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:39.81.
Anna Jackson kept the winning trend going in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:00.98.
Kate Murphy came in just behind Jackson with a time of 2:01.23 to take second in the event. Jackson also took home an event win with a time of 5:18.92 to win the event by over seven seconds.
Victoria Murillo gave the Marauders a fourth straight event win taking the 50 yard free by over one second with a time of 25.29 seconds.
Rachel Riedel won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.81.
Mariah Stewart would take home event wins in both the 1 meter and 3 meter diving boards.
Abbey Zajdzinski took second in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:11.29.
Alyssa Boese took second in the 100 yard free posting a time of 57.10 seconds.
The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Mady Scherwinski, Zajdzinski, Boese, and Murillo rounded out the day with a second place finish with a time of 3:48.16.
"Today was a great team performance coming off a tough week of practice. The team really did a nice job of racing aggressively and setting the tone early in their races." stated Head Coach
Allan McCallum "It'll be nice to have a couple of weeks off before our next meet where we can build off of this total team performance and get some great training in."
The Marauders will have a couple weeks off before they return to the pool to take on Concordia College on November 17 in West Fargo, ND.
