New win streak begins for Marauders with 9-0 rout of Buffaloes

BISMARCK, ND – There was no kind of hangover for the University of Mary hockey team after suffering the program's first-ever loss last weekend. After their 15-game win streak was halted by defending ACHA Division II national champion Florida Gulf Coast University, the Marauders took out whatever frustrations they may have felt by pummeling the University of Colorado 9-0.

Nine different Marauders scored goals in the contest, sandwiching a single goal in the second with four in each of the first and third periods. Phillip Silveria posted a goal and two assists. Marshall Tschida and Andrew Heckaman each had three assists while Drew Lenertz and Jakob Parisien boyth had two assists. Josh Colleaux, Zachery Garrett and Kyler Moore both had a goal and an assist. Overall, 14 different Marauders registered points in the game.

The Marauders opened the scoring at 8:37 on an Andrew Huber power play goal, making use of UMary's lone man advantage of the night. Garrett, Jonathan Sundell and Cyril Nagurski all added goals before the end of the first period, with Nagurski's coming with one second remaining before intermission.

Alex Flicek kept his goal-a-game average intact when he tallied in the second. Flicek owns a team-high 17 goals in 17 games.

Colleaux, Silveria, Moore and Dylan Goulet concluded the rout with four goals in the third.

UMary held a massive shots advantage over Colorado at 45-14. Lance Knutson posted his third shutout of the season, stopping all 14 shots he faced.

The two teams combined for a total of three fouls with UMary picking up the odd-numbered call.

The Marauders (16-1) and the Buffaloes (4-6-1) conclude their two-game set at 7 pm on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Schwan Cadillac Arena at Starion Sports Complex.
