Marauders swimming and diving heads to South Dakota for meets against SDSU, Augie, and Sioux Falls

THIS WEEKEND
The University of Mary swimming and diving team heads down to South Dakota to compete in two separate meets this weekend. They will first swim in a Tri Dual with South Dakota State University and Augustana University in Brookings, SD on Friday, October 19 at 5 pm. They will follow that up with a meet against Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday, October 20 at 12 pm.
 
THE RECORD
The Marauders come into this weekends meets with a 1-2 record.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took to the pool was in a meet against MSU Moorhead. The Marauders swam well, posting five first place finishes and seven second place finishes. Despite several great finishes, UMary would fall 180-117 to the Dragons.
 
OPPONENT RESEARCH: SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
South Dakota State comes into the meet against the Marauders with a 2-2 record. The Jackrabbits have an undefeated home record going 2-0 but have yet to win a meet on the road, going 0-2.
 
OPPONENT RESEARCH: AUGUSTANA
Augustana comes into the meet against the Marauders with a dominant 2-0 record. Augustana competed against the Marauders in the season opener taking them down 246-180. Augustana ranked third in the NSIC preseason coaches' poll
 
OPPONENT RESEARCH: SIOUX FALLS
Sioux Falls has yet to hit the pool this season. The Cougars will host their season opener against the Marauders. USF is projected to finish fourth this year in the NSIC in the preseason coaches' poll.
 
RECORDS ON RECORDS
The Marauders have already broken six records this season. Victoria Murillo owns three of those records. She has claimed school records in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:08.13), 200 yard freestyle (1:54.93), and 50 yard breaststroke (31.59). Anna Jackson set a new school mark in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:30.15. The Marauders lone diver Mariah Stewart bested her own personal record off the 3 meter diving board.
 
FRESHMAN PHENOM
Victoria Murillo has been nothing short of spectacular for the Marauders breaking three school records and posting times amongst the nations best. Murillo, from Cancun, Mexico boasts the 11th fastest time in the nation in the 200 free posting a blistering fast time of 1:54.93.
 
SWEET SWEET VICTORY
Victoria Murillo, Alyssa Boese, Anna Jackson, Andrea Lee, Abbey Zajdzinski, and Rachel Riedel all have one thing in common, they all have taken home event wins this season. These six Marauders have been nothing short of amazing leading the team in each and every meet.
