Marauders hockey faces toughest challenge of season as they take on defending ACHA division II champions Florida Gulf Coast

LAST TIME OUT
The University of Mary hockey team was at home performing in front of a packed house the last time they took the ice. The Marauders took on Montana State in a weekend double header. UMary dominated the first game of the weekend winning by a score of 6-2. In similar fashion, the Marauders took down the Bobcats by a score of 5-2 in the second game of the weekend.

RECORD
The Marauders boast an undefeated 14-0 record in the program's inaugural season.

UNDEFEATED
The Marauders currently hold an unrivaled undefeated record. The Marauders have outscored their opponents by a score of 72-17 throughout the 14 games. The Marauders look to continue to dominate in their inaugural season and keep the winning trend going.

UNHEARD OF
The Marauders have posted plenty of impressive stats this season but possibly none more impressive then what occurred during their second game against UND. The Marauders won the game 9-0 and had NINE different players score a goal. Now that's called teamwork!

NOT IN OUR HOUSE
The Marauders have the luxury of having not one but two dominant forces in the net. Both of the Marauders goalies have 7-0 records. Aaron Nelson boasts a .961 save percentage. The former NCAA Division I goalie at Minnesota State University has only allowed eight goals to sneak past him thus far in the season while stopping the other 197 attempts. Nelson has two shutouts on the season. Lance Knudson hass only allowed in nine goals so far this season, stopping the other 155 attempts for a save percentage of .945. Knudson has two shutouts on the season.

GOAL….GOAL…GOAL
The goal horn has become a familiar sound when the Marauders are on the ice this season. The team is averaging over five goals per game. The Marauders have had 16 players score so far this season. Alex Flicek leads all Marauders with 14 goals. Andrew Huber is right behind him with 13 goals. Kyler Moore was the Montana State goalies worst nightmare over this past weekend, knocking in five goals over the two games including a hat trick in the second game of the weekend. Moore bumped his goal total on the season from two all the way to seven with his tremendous performance against the Bobcats.

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
Teamwork is the name of the game for the Marauders. All 18 Marauders have recorded at least one assist on the season. Marshall Tschida leads all Marauders with 15 assists on the season. Zachery Garrett is second on the team in assists posting 12. Drew Lenertz hit the double digits mark over the past weekend bumping his season total up to ten assists. Benjamin Kottmeier is nearing that double digit mark, currently sitting at nine assists on the season.

TO BE THE BEST YOU'VE GOT TO BEAT THE BEST
The Marauders possibly have one of the hardest schedules in the country and this weekend emphasizes the difficulty of it. The Marauders will take on defending ACHA Division II champions Florida Gulf Coast in a two game set this weekend. The Eagles come into the match against the Marauders with a 2-0 record thus far in the season, outscoring opponents 17-4. In their first twelve games on the season, the Marauders have faced six teams who ranked in the top eleven of the ACHA Division II West region last season. Some of the Marauders notable victories against ACHA powerhouses were beating #1 in the west, Northern Arizona by a score of 3-2. The Marauders took down #2 in the west, Utah State by a score of 5-1. The Marauders also took down the third best team in the west, Northern Colorado by a score of 5-2. The Marauders certainly have positioned themselves to be a powerhouse in the ACHA.

GOT FANS?
Got fans? The Marauders sure do! The Marauders have received an incredible amount of support from the community, so much so that they completely packed the house, where even standing room was hard to come by in their first home game of the season. The Marauders look to continue to use the energy from the crowd to make their home ice one of the most difficult places to play in the country.
